Ritzy, I presume he'll be sitting at a table, right.

By the way, I love your profile picture!

Whoo Hoo!!! We have 60 attending the dinner!! Our largest gathering yet! As to what to wear...you will be in Texas, bluejeans are fine!! Please wear comfortable shoes as it will be a long day.

The dinner is at Don Patron Bar and Grill, 500 Dallas on November 3rd. We will gather at 6:30. The meal with tea, tax and gratuity will be $22.00 per person. Please bring cash in the exact amount (no envelope necessary), I will check your name off the list as I receive your money. This has worked well in the past.

Mixed drinks will be available. You may want to bring some extra cash as the waiters will collect when the drinks are delivered to the table.

        The reservation is under Myers.

Don Patron's is located behind the Hyatt. The buses will not stop at this location. Last year taxi's were $6.00 for anywhere downtown.

        See y'all soon! Safe travels!
        Happy Quilting,

Hey everybody have a great time at Houston and enjoy the dinner. Somebody take a photo of you all together at the dinner - before you are too drunk to hold a camera. And a toast to absent friends perhaps?

Off to the airport in a few minutes, WooHoo! Hope DH survives a week on his own! I know he can do this.

LOL!! No nekked Lorens!! A lot of the folks will be coming right from the festival/convention center, so whatever you plan to wear that day will be fine! Comfortable shoes work too! The Quilt/Fashion police are not invited!! Of course, I was caught so off guard last year that everyone could have been nekked, and I would not have noticed!!!

I wish you all a great, wonderful, fun time!!! I wish I could go, but maybe next year  . I do get to spend Saturday at a trunk show and "Sit and Sew" with Kaye England, so that will make up for alittle of my disappointment. Post lots of pictures for us "stay at homes".

Arrived in Houston, going over to the "Winners Circle" I wonder who's quilt is the big winner?

Looking forward to seeing everyone in the next few days. Already ran a cross Dana and Carol plus I can remember who else was with them. Let the fun begin.

We got to our hotel about 6pm local time. 12 hours in the car with minimal stops-I'm still vibrating!

We'll be at preview night, who else is going?

Just got back from the Winners' Circle. Pat McCarty took best-in-show with her quilt that also won best-in-show at HMQS this year. It's really mind-boggling. But so are the rest of them. Lots of winners from Japan!

Looking forward to meeting everyone Thursday evening.

                            Eileen,
My flight gets in at 3:00 pm. I don't know if I will make the convention center by 5:00, but I will get there as soon as I can. The plan is to get my bag, get on the super shuttle, check into my hotel, throw my bag in my room and then run the 10 blocks to the convention center. The out of breath, red faced, very plus sized woman stumbling into the hall around 5:30 or 6:00 will be me. Looking forward to meeting you and everyone!

Margo, thanks so much for posting the winners. I have been sitting here with my mouth hanging open looking at all the wonderful entries. Sue Garman's Baltimore Album quilt is probably the most beautiful I have ever seen! I honestly don't know how the judges choose between all the quilts they all look so stunning.

I hope somebody will take a photo of 'The Amazing Eight' quilt and post it on the site for those of us not a Houston to see, please :?:

                                Enjoy the show.

                                Rita.
