Well gals, the call from Houston came today....both my quilts that I entered in the show have won a prize!!! OMG times a hundred!!!! They don't tell you what you've won, just that you've won.....could be anything from judges choice to first place. Whatever!.... just the fact that they are in the show is enough for me!! Needless to say, I'll be attending the awards ceremony! Until then I'll be crafting some shoes made of concrete to keep me from floating away!!!
        Back to Quilting!

Way to go, Janet---congratulations ! Do you know when they will put the winning quilts on the website ? Is it during or after the show is over ?

You gals are the BEST! Thanks for all your support! I'm not sure when they post the winners on the website. I know AQS usually posts their winners at the beginning of the show. I've never had a quilt in the Houston show, so I don't know when they post theirs.

I am also trying to find a pair of concrete shoes like Janet. I got a phone call too from Houston. I was so happy I started to cry. My quilt Stanza Della Signatura won an award too. It is going to be an unbelievable time in Houston. I was just so happy to have a quilt in the show and now I am in shock that it won an award. Tim Juhl, who did the quilting, has gotten doctor approval to fly down to Houston. Some of you may recall my blog about his seizure problems. Well, he was recently diagnosed with a small brain tumor. He is doing great and they are going to keep a very close eye on things. This is going to be so fun to walk across stage with Tim and receive the award. My husband, John, was not going to go but now he is going. This was our 25th Wedding Anniversary quilt and he said he would not miss it for anything knowing how much I worked on this project. Our 26th Wedding Anniversary is tomorrow but we are going wait and celebrate our 26th in Houston on the evening of 11/2. I can't wait to meet and celebrate with all of you.
