I'm getting excited. It's around 6am and we're getting ready for our 2 hour drive to the show. My badge will be pinned to my backpack. Don't forget to meet up at 1pm at the back of the Stitchin' Post. Hope to see you there.

Um, this is very after-the-fact, but I went to Sisters in 2011. It was really great, except for taking 1.5 hours to make the 25 minute drive from PIL's house in Bend, and after moving the last 1/2 mile in 40 minutes giving up on the car and parking at the side of the road south of town and hoofing it the rest of the way in. If I go again, I'll take a friend who wants to see the show too, and get a hotel room in town and not try to drive anywhere during the show! Leave the DH at his parents house if he wants to help me drive to Oregon, I'd still get a hotel in Sisters for myself. Minimum 2 night stay during that weekend, I think?

I think the motel I stay at now has a 4-night minimum on that weekend. And not only that, but every hotel/motel room is booked so far in advance you need to get on a waiting list and hope for a cancellation. That drive from Bend is awful for traffic, but that's the trade-off for the small town charm that Sisters offers. I love that place. If you're staying in Bend, I'd recommend getting up super super early, beat the traffic, and arrive in time to see the hanging of the quilts. I have not seen that, but it's quite the undertaking. Then you can call it a day early and get out of the heat of the afternoon. I am counting the days to Sisters Quilt Show 2012!!!!!

AuntSewsie has the right idea! I like to park the car in what will be the afternoon shade at the park and also the easiest way to get out of town EARLY in the morning. . .like 6:30 AM! Then, I find a place to have breakfast and enjoy watching the hanging of the quilts. It is an amazing process. It is also nice to be seeing quilts without having to look around all the people!

Terry, if you are going this year, I'd love to meet you -- and any other TQS members. I will have a few quilts displayed again this year at Jill's Wild & Tasteful Women. Jill will have be displaying her lovely ladies art across the street from Sisters Artworks where all the great framed postcards will be auctioned off. So I'll be hanging around my quilts for part of the day. Stop by and say hi! ~Sue

Terry - I wonder if you could put your wholecloth quilt in this show?
