I had an email from Sharon Shambers website that one of her quilts won Best of Show. It's beautiful.

In a few minutes, DH will take me to the meeting place to catch the bus with the quilt group to go to Houston! I can hardly wait. Will see some of you at 1 pm at the TQS booth.

Pat, your quilt in Houston is wonderful. Just saw it on the award winners list. You must just about be over the moon. I love the dimension and perspective you get in your quilts. Hope to see you this winter or if all else fails next spring. Please post more about your "Houston experience" Ann (lonesome in the Valley wish I was in Houston)

Saw Pat's quilt yesterday and it is indeed very good. The perspective is really interesting! And much to my delight, I got to meet Pat! She is delightful. I'm committed to taking a weekend trip down to see her and her collection of antique sewing machines!

                        Congrats, Pat!!!

Oh, thank you so much, ladies, and I'm so glad I got to meet some of you at the show. It was incredibly exciting to white-glove by my quilt and get to meet and talk to folks from all over the world, literally every continent. I just got home about 2 hours ago and haven't even unpacked yet. I deliberately left my credit cards and debit cards at home, and the only thing I bought was 5 spools of 100 wt. silk thread, 1,000 yd. per spool, to try for machine quilting and applique. Who knew you could hold $81 in your hand?

I'd like to challenge a lot of you to try entering next year. They got a bit less than 700 entries for the show this year, and chose 375 quilts to hang at the show, so if you do the math, you would have had better than a 50-50 chance of having your quilt in the show. If you're intimidated at the thought of being turned down, you needn't be--nothing bad will happen to you. You don't even have to tell anybody that you sent in an entry, so nobody will know if you don't get juried in. But do take a chance, ladies, it's just so exciting to be able to have your quilt seen and admired by thousands of other quilt lovers. There are ladies in my quilt guild that do beautiful work, and I've let them know that I intend to keep after them to enter--they are beginning to weaken, LOL.

                              Pat,
My DD and I were taking a break, sitting on a bench Saturday afternoon. We looked across the way and saw a blue quilt. We were talking about how we liked the quilt and the movement that was in it. Having seen "Vertigo" this summer, that reference was made about the quilt. We couldn't even tell which category it was in. When we got up, we went over for a closer look. As soon as I saw the explaination, I realized that it was your quilt. I'm glad I got to see it, sorry I missed you.
