Well - I am glad that Hannelores quilts were found! this happened to a quilt from Norwich last year - and was one of the reasons that I posted my quilt this year (plus the fact that I didnt want to drive to Thetford this year!) will you enter it next year???

I have some news but I have to check it out first - it has to do with Welsh quilts!!

I made a point of going up to Ricky (afraid that I did not mention TQS) to ask what he felt the differences between the big US shows and FOQ were: his answer (well the gist, not his words):
    1. US major shows are juried whereas this is all comers
    2. prize structure very much different in US than in UK
    3. When asked , he said that US and UK quilts similar in standard, colours, humour, inventiveness etc. Felt that shows in say, Germany, Russia and Japan had much different types of quilts. Very thoughtful answer. I liked his quilts and he was good at telling those around how he had made them.

The interesting thing was that this quilt show now attracts a lot of people from outside the UK. The mix of languages had to be heard to be believed. And all interested in the same thing - quilts.

Only three large wholecloth quilts - but Lilian has said that there will be a special showing of these at Harrogate so perhaps will have to go to that one (for the first time)

Some were speculating that Alex will be invited to come over next year?? Hope so!!

I'm sorry to hear about your lost quilts, yeah that had to be abit stressful. I'm happy to hear Ricky took good care of you through this. "I'm very happy that the quilts showed up". These things happen like lost luggage at the airport. I'm glad you had a great time considering this miss fortune.

OMG Lorchen, a quilter's worst nightmare. You are very gracious and I'm glad you were able to enjoy the seminar and dinner. AND I'm SO glad you got your quilts back.

Oh, Lorchen! That makes my heart stop!! Thank goodness your quilts are OK! You need to make a special label for each quilt telling the tale!

Thanks, Margo, I must have missed the bottom on that page as I remember reading some of the threads above Lorchen's comments. I am glad that everything worked out for her. Judy in AZ
