    Weather Worries

We have had some very bad weather in Arkansas tonight, especially around the Little Rock area. There have been several tornado's that have reportedly caused quite a bit of damage.

I hope everyone will keep the members of the website that have been affected in their thoughts. I know of one member in particular who lives in Bryant, which was hit hard.

I'm north of the area that was hardest hit, and we had a lot of rain, adding to the flooding that is going on now. But we are fine...just wet!

Thank you, Christi, for mentioning this. Those of us who may even be praying for rain sure forget that some of you get too much of it. And tornadoes! I can't even imagine! I will keep your part of our country in my prayers. Best of luck to all of you.

JoAnne in southern California, hoping for some rain here

Christi, you all will be in my prayers--I lived in Missouri and went through the tornado seasons--my brother was almost killed in one. I'm in California now and live with earthquakes--it's always something!!! Do you have a basement? We spent many an evening in ours until the "all clear" signal. Judy

I definitely am praying for all of the victims of the bad weather in Texas, Arkansas and surrounding areas. And am SINGING PRAISES TO MY LORD that dh and I were either just ahead or just behind the storms as we traveled from southern Texas to Olive Branch MS. The Lord definitely was guiding us because one night we camped south and east of where we had thought we would end up and missed tennis ball size hail. And now we passed through Little Rock and stayed there one night (Tues.) so were ahead of this storm. Rain in OB so we are enjoying "lakeside property" Hope our friends don't up the rent for that privelege lol.

Ann (who is up at 5 a.m. perusing TQS during a break from cutting squares to sew on Saturday with Dana and her friends but need to find at least one 'Ann style" project to take along --- what I am cutting is way tooooooooo traditional and I certainly do not want to ruin my reputation!!!!!!!!)

Thanks for bringing this up Christi. I am in Bryant and was up in the hallway a good bit of the night. The closest damage to me was a little less than a mile away. I was lucky- I have a friend in the mobile home park that was evacuated. I also work in home healthcare, it will be a interesting day- checking on patients in the affected areas and making sure they are ok.

I am SO glad to hear from you! I watched LR's Fox TV's live streaming on my computer so I could keep my son updated (he was in the bathtub with a futon mattress and his cat all night) and thought about you every time they mentioned Bryant.

I'm sure you will have a long day ahead of you, and it'll be scary once you go out and see the damage. Stay safe!!

I find myself thinking about "unknown" TQS members every time there's a weather emergency/situation ANYWHERE in the country (world too!) I pray everyone is ok, but realize that these would be the very times our members might not be able to get on to tell us if they were affected, so thanks Christi and ArkansasPT i am so thankful you're ok, I'll still keep you and your community in my prayers.

I am so glad to hear that all is well with those we have heard from. I will rememberyou all in my prayers. I guess snow isn't so bad after all. It may be cold but at least you know where your house is when it's going on. God bless Rachel

ok that was NOT fun... we were in a tornado warning from about 10:15 to 12:15 last night...all ok here (yeah, it's not light out so I haven't looked at trees in the backyard) but it's believed a tornado did touch down about 5 miles from here. Nothing like Hampton VA sustained last week, nor what the middle of the country is used to, but not fun to sit w/ kids in the basement for that long at that time of night! Still T-storms called for all day today...wish I didn't have to go out & could stay home & quilt

Uh, oh, everyone say a little prayer-- I just heard a tornado probably touched down in a local business park-- a tractor-trailer full of rebar was flipped!-- but the big worry here of course IS quilt-related-- that's the location of The Virginia Quilter! I hope they didn't sustain any damage!! (um, although I'd probably be ok w/a "tornado sale"... )

Florence, glad you and your family are ok. I know it can be frightening and a little annoying. This has been a violent spring weather wise. Hope your LCS is ok.

Glad to hear you are okay, Florence. Next time you are going to the basement grab your hand sewing. It makes the time go a lot faster. Of course if the electricity is out that is bad but our grandmothers worked by candlelight so we can too. lol Ann

Well, Ann, our grandmother's must have had better eyes than mine if they truly worked by candlelight! I do fine if I have good light, but wow! If not, it's a pretty messy project, even with my good specs!
