National Quilting Day, Saturday March 15th

I belong to the Crazy Quilters Quilt Guild in Emmaus, PA, and we have a number of community service projects each year. We will be gathering on National Quilt Day to make kits for several of those projects - breast pillows and tote bags for recent breast cancer surgery patients, preemie quilts for local hospitals and lap robes.

Saturday just so happens to be Quilt Day - our local guild meeting - so I will be attending the meeting to be inspired by the speaker, the show & tell, and the donation quilts.

And I'm hoping to make some progress on at least one of my projects!

Saturday happens to be The Big Sale at Merrily We Quilt Along in Spfd, Mo. so I'm going shopping. Hopping to get Susan Clevelands book on sale. Also, a little birdie told me Merrily is going to be appearing on TQS soon, will be so neat to see her on the show. Hope everyone gets to enjoy National Quilt Day in a fun way. Rena

Boo Hoo  I've got to go to a business conference this weekend so Saturday I'll be stuck in meetings and workshops...of course, I'll take my hand-work w/ me (BOM) and hope I can sit near the back & sew, but it just ain't the same... On the plus side, Friday and Sunday I'm in the car for ~3 hrs and DH always drives, so there's a lot of sewing time! Ya'll have fun at your group quilting events! Florence

Saturday in March will be National Quilting Day.
Geeesh, I don't know from one day to the next what I will be doing. Though quilting is usually apart of my daily routine. Keeping
those machines clean from dust bunnies is a great idea, I try to stay up with this. Now, I could use a volunteer to come and fold my stash and put it in nice order for me, it's a big mezzz!
          I don't wanna hear I Cainnnn't I'm buzzzy, thats my line!! LOL!

          Have A great NQD

I have to make a trip out of state to a memorial service for my aunt. After all that is entailed with that I will be dropping off a quilt to my m-i-l. She has me machine sew her bindings for her then she turns and does the handstitching on them. I hope to be back home by late afternoon and get some sewing of my own done. I want to work on my TQS BOM March block. Also want to figure out how to post pictures on my profile.

We are visiting DS #4 this weekend. On Saturday I will be checking out quilt shops in Fargo, ND. We are leaving tomorrow bright and early otherwise I would have asked for suggestions from any Fargo members. This also means I will have to catch up on all the posts when we get home. I hate to miss anything

Gloria - that sounds like fun! We have on our list to go to Fargo. ND is one of the states we don't have yet - I think I'm only missing 7!!

Fargo is a really nice city. Very clean and brand new feeling. The people are really friendly but it is really really flat. On a clear day from the 2nd floor you can see Montana. Just kidding

I grew up in farm country, Colorado, so I know all about the flat! My mom gets uncomfortable when she visits my brothers in GA & NC since there are so many trees she can't see very far.

Like Florence, I will be stuck in meetings all day from Saturday through next Wednesday. I did bring along a needle turn project so I have something to do in the hotel in the evening. Happy Quilting Day to everyone! ...And many more!

I will spent National Quilting Day in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee at the Mountain Quiltfest with fellow TQS friend, SandyTN!
I've been in the house for so long, it feels like I've been let out on a "day pass"!!

I plan on a trip to a quilt shop and then do some quilting! I'm almost done marking my new white work project and then will see if I can get it basted and ready to quilt.

At the sewing machine I plan on working on a guild BOM.

We actually got to 50 degrees today and it was sunny and lovely.

I was at the horse barn with the vet for my Magic's spring check up and she said the birds were fighting which means spring will soon be here! Yea!

We already have bluebirds building in the two nesting boxes in our yard! So much fun to watch!

I have had a wonderful day. Went to the Mountain Quilt Fest Show in Pigeon Forege, Tn with Margo. The quilts were awesome. This was my first big quilt show and I told her I had never been inspired to try machine quilting because what little I had seen in person I was not impressed with. I am now impressed and will try it. Don't promise I will be good at it or that I will enjoy as much as I do hand quilting I am inspired to at least try it.

Wonderful show. Did any of our members enter a quilt???
