To be fair to dfrank27 (sorry I don't know your name) if you watch old shows and click on links related to that show you can come across dead links but a quick duckducking usually finds what you are after. Problems around using various features on the site occurs if you block ads, have high privacy settings in your browser or use unusual browsers but they are usually ironed out after reporting to tech help.

Sadly there are a number of previous paying members who no longer pay but just follow the blog these days. I have several friends who with the advent of Craftsy and all that is offered there in the way of tuition have let go not only of TQS but also of QNNtv because these are more for entertainment than education (I am quoting here) and in these economic times some of us have to be more "choosey" about spending our money. I have for the past two years looked long and hard at whether or not to renew but first I have let go of a very long standing subscription to a magazine and next I didn't go to a quilt show this year so saved not only petrol but also the shopping I didn't do :P so I renewed as a treat.

There is a lot of information and teaching going on here, there and everywhere for free these days especially compared to 7 years ago so the world looks very different now but this site is also part what we make it ourselves through the forum just like Yahoo groups can be very alive or dull as dishwater. Let us see what will be on offer from the powers that are and then put in our tuppence worth (or whatever our currency is) and see what we can do with it. If we don't like what we see we can leave it behind and say it has had its time and form our own groups or we can give feedback and suggest, be active in whatever group/forum will be on offer.

Please let us not get this into a playground discussion but rev up the sewing machine, do some patchwork and quilting, sit back from time to time, pour a cup of tea and keep an eye on the blog to see what launches (when it does). Then we can celebrate (or commiserate over) what we have got but let us not second guess.

Hope you all stitch up a lovely Sunday and don't forget to sew straight
      Marianne

I rather changes and updates to a website take a little longer but when they happen they work.

Never had any problems with links.

Membership of TQS is amazing value for money. I just wish I had more time to make full use of everything that is on offer.

I know from being on the periphery of software/web design roll-outs (my DS is a software designer) that the dates for the roll-out are almost always very fluid. It is well worth the extra wait of a week or two or three to ensure the site is well-tested so that we, the end user, have a minimal number of issues when we do get to see it. This site is very ambitious and has a lot of moving parts....I continue to think that TQS is a great value for the money and am so thankful it is available as one of our many quilting resources. Yes, there is a lot of competition that has grown up over the past 7 1/2 years, but this site still feels like home. Just my humble opinion. Nancy

Ditto for me too. Because of watching shows here on TQS I have been introduced to so many talented quilters - and because of that introduction here FIRST, I could then decide if I wanted to pursue what other sites offer for more information on what these teachers offer. I get every cent of my money's worth here and visit this site every single day (and sometimes more!) It just makes me happy!

I watch a lot of shows online. TQS is the only site that doesn't stall and loads quickly, high def, full-screen. I know this hasn't happened for everyone, but John has tried his best to make it readily accessible for all of us. I click on QNNTV and do my dishes while the shows load. No search engine there.

Professional...I own a lot of Craftsy classes. I would say that I'm sorry I purchased 1/4 of them. The editing, the professional quality of TQS shows and classrooms is unmatched IMHO and that we can go back and watch all shows is an amazing value.

Did anyone ever do a paid BOM through a local quilt store??? $15 to $35 a month. We get awesome video lessons by award winning quilters.

I know this is a rant, I'll leave it up on my screen for a half an hour before I submit.

Well, I for one just love TQS. I have learned so much from the classrooms, shows and the forum. Another benefit is the friendship I feel here! I couldn't do without TQS or my friends.

I've really been enjoying going back & watching prior shows. In October I am taking a workshop with Nancy Prince. I watched her TQS show after my guild newsletter said she was speaking & doing a workshop. I have been a member just a couple years. I really like being able to watch all shows, new and old.

I have also worked in accounting for many years and when new software gets rolled out, it is 'never' on time. Our payroll dept was supposed to be using new software July & here it is September with no change. Rollout dates are definitely fluid.

I love TQS also! One suggestion for Capt John:

Can you let us log in and then have the option of the site saving/remembering our password? That way we don't have to log in many times each day! Many other forum type sites will keep you logged in - some indefinitely, some for perhaps 2 weeks or so at a time. I knowing would prefer that, as I check TQS at least 4 times a day! And I suspect many other members do too!

Thanks for considering this Capt John.

I would really like that, too. My browser saves my password, but I do get tired of having to go through the login process multiple times a day.

                            Here's another request.

I love the short tutorials that Alex and Ricky slip in the regular shows. Wouldn't it be neat if when they did that there would be a link in their Classroom stating the topic and Episode number. I spend lots of time looking for those segments of the shows. I wish there were an easy way to find those valuable lessons. This idea came about because a few of us were engaged in a lengthy search trying to find a tutorial Ricky gave somewhere recently demo-ing how to FMQ feathers in back of feathers and we can't find it.

Need help with signing in. I check the remember me box, but still have to sign in each time . What am I doing wrong? Help will be appreciated.

I am getting used to the new site and think I will like it. Janet

Not sure what's going on, Janet. I clicked that box and haven't had to sign back in again since. So it does work, at least for some users.
