    Request for a class

    Hi Alex,
Would you please consider doing a hand applique series of videos?

Hey Eileen! I know that I can't hold a candle to Alex's classroom videos, but until she has time to do some for you, you might want to check out the tutorials I did last year for the BOM. I used mostly needleturn techniques, and maybe there is something there that will help you. Start with the January Star and check the rest of the 2008 BOM tutorials (they are numbered 1-17) for additional tips.

C&T publishing just released a video by Elly Sinkewich (sp??) of Baltimore Album fame. I ordered direct from C&T and got it in less then a week. JoAnn fabric might have it in stock at one of the bigger stores

It is well worth the $19 plus s&h I paid for it.... 100 minutes of close up instruction on applique...cut work and needle turn.

      Hope this helps

Yes I did, Margo. I've bookmarked several of the sites. As far as dvds go, I am a big Piece O'Cake fan and they have a dvd out too. It's also by C&T. Their style is less formal than Elly's.

            Hi Margo,
What is "did you see Vicki's WhistleStop Web Tour on MQR" ?

I really enjoy hand appliqu, and I'm also trying to improve my machine applique stitching as well.

            Thank you!

I'm not Margo but I can answer this. MQR is a website for machine quilters. I don't think it has to be a stand-up quilting systerm. Most of us have businesses but not all.

Kathy, MQR is Machine Quilter's Resource, a web site that has lots of great info and inspiration for machine quilters available for a free membership, but the premier membership is worth the money for the extra videos and discounts on their on-line classes.

This week there just happens to be a great article on the home page about applique with links to lots of sources.

Here is a link to the home page.

You might want to send a request to the "CONTACT" link (on the bottom purple bar at the top of the page). They don't always monitor all of the forum threads.
