    I have not done a crumb catcher, but have done the piped binding aka Ricky, a tip for the flange though, rather than just trying to get a scant 1/4 inch seam, use your 1/4 inch foot and move the needle over 1 or 2 spaces to the edge, then you will be well inside the seam allowance and the binding will cover the stitching.

      I love using crumb catchers. I sew them on with a 1/8 in seam then use a 1/4 in seam to attach the next piece.

        I've always known this as flat piping. Isn't it interesting how many names it has! Kinda like quilt blocks . . . .
