    Alex's 6 minute circle

I tried making the circle today, but found that I glued too much, or the glue was too dry, and ended up tearing the paper. Did anyone else struggle with this? If you had success, what did you do? ops:

Try using Elmers School Glue instead of the glue stick. Sharon Schamber uses it and it's been my new BFF. Sharon uses a fine tip applicator, which can be purchased from any chain store like WM, Michaels, etc. After applying, heat set with a hot dry iron for a couple of seconds. I like my seam allowance to be quite generous so I have something to grip when it is time to pull loose the glue.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

First round of glueing go light, second heavier, and yes the paper can tear.
It took me about four or five times to get a handle on it - Now I am HOOKED!

I have gotten hooked on those circles. I got the glue stick with less sticky for the first glue and iron the heck down and the second glue stick with heavier glue, and again iron the heck out of it. Make sure you use the shiny side up of the paper on the wrong side of the main fabric. You do have to be careful about when you take them apart.

I jumped outside of my box and made 2 table runners and 8 placemats with circles of all shapes and sizes. The first couple were awkward, but then they turned into 1 minute circles. Really fast. I do notice I did have to change needles often because of the glue. I will post a pic over the weekend.

Good luck, Sharon - with a full tummy - in Colorado

Hi - that was show 309 -- although I did order the book which is very helpful for the circles, because she also gives other shapes to inset.

              Good luck, Sharon in CO
