    For my underneath hand I just use some paper tape, in the first aid section at the store. I also use all three fingers alternating between the index middle and ring finger, so I don't get too sore on one finger. Whichever one is the most sore, usually the one I used the day prior, is the one I tape that day. I give it a day off and its much better the next day and ready for more punishment!

      Like AnnGie, I also you the medical adhesive tape for protecting my fingers from needle sticks when hand quilting. I actually use the fabric type though. I use the tape on my underside finger as well as my top side thumb. I could never find a thimble that fits comfortably on my thumb! The tape works great and lasts for a very long time.
