Lorna, I'm glad you made it and enjoyed your day out!

Margo, that appliqué quilt is beautifully made and the background is very simply cross-hatched. I love 'understated' quilting. Too often I see quilts were the busy and heavy quilting distracts from the pieced blocks or the appliqué. But then I'm a simple girl myself!

Me too, Lorchen!! I absolutely LUV a traditional quilt with simple cross-hatching, either by hand or by machine. Here is one that I did 6 years ago:

Lorchen thank you ever so much for these photos and info it great to see them, and I just love reading and photos of other countries dont you.

And I have to tell you that I love cross hatching the best also, I know and love all the quilting on all the quilts but I always am drawn to the hatching, Margo your quilt is beautiful and yes the hatching is perfect for it.

              Lorchen,

Thank you for sharing the North Kyme quilt show - wonderful pieces to see! Loved the doll, the applique with cross hatches and the mariners compas/pickle dish quilt!

Lorchen, thanks you so much for all the photos. The quilts looked wonderful. The church looked wonderful and the Christmasy quilts reminded me that I should probably get on with some table runners and place mats for the family for Christmas! Loved the appliqued one and the one with the mariners compass/New York beauty one. Margo your appliqued quilt with the cross hatching is exquisite. Lorna I love the idea of your fat quarter odyssey too.
