I'm not on board with "United States only". Can't you word it in a more inviting way? And I do look forward to finding out more about quilting in other countries. I wouldn't want to be put off by "England ONLY". Just my two American cents...

I agree, I am from UK and my one reservation about having seperate country threads is that I wouldn't want anyone to feel that they are excluded from other countries threads. WE are ONE big community. Pam

I think that ARJJ is doing this in response to quilters from many countries who want to "hook up" with people from their own areas. Sometimes it's hard for those who are outside the US to understand our slang and local references, just as it is hard for us to understand theirs.
          I don't think it's meant to segragate.

I think most Quilters are naturally nosy, they will have a rummage in other country sites just to make sure they're not missing anything

This is a HYOOOGE web site and it just nice that we can all use it for advice and brain picking and show and tell things.

It's a bit like the magazines over here. They're great for interviews and advice and how toos as well but, 90% of them are American full of American adverts and they are not too much use to us over here (unless we pay import and postage etc  ) Having a little corner that doesn't become lost where we know there actually is a possability of visiting places, buying stuff or meeting each other is great.

AND if you're coming over here, you know where we are, what shops and shows we have and who you could meet up with. There is nothing, absolutely nothing stopping someone outside of the UK joining in.

              We don't bite.

              Well Lynn might a bit.

I don't understand how this works, but then I'm a little slow....... I'll just wait and watch. It'll come to me. LOL

So do we start a new topic under this main heading? United States?

                      I don't see any of our usual topics anymore. ????? :?: :?:

Hi Quilterlyn, I think the idea is that under the International Forum by Country we can make areas that are a bit more local and relevant to us.

Perhaps you or someone could start one for your 'area' of the US. (Doesn't have to be a whole country when it's as big as the USA!)

As you're in Texas, perhaps a Southern States one? That way you could hear from others in your area and what's going on. Someone else, Alex herself even(!), could start a West Coast, Ricky could do Central etc.

I love "talking" to everyone all over the world, so I'm glad you all are dropping by!!! When I visited England I felt so welcome--I loved it over there! I hope I get to do more traveling--those long plane rides kill me, though! Judy in Torrance, California
