Charae, I really like your Medallion Quilt. It's wonderful how different all our quilt look and that is beautiful. Shirley35

Charae, Kudos! You made the deadline! The best thing about the quilt? It is finished. Mine still sits in HST stacks by states. But, I MAY get my mini batik HST quilt done for the second deadline. Time will tell!

I've been working on my friendship triangle exchange quilt sporadically for a couple of months, but I was unable to finish it yesterday. I'm close, so close. I think I should have it completed on Tuesday. My family and volunteer commitments only give me a few hours here and there to work on my quilting. I do love the way the top is coming together and I think it will be a beautiful quilt when it is finished. Is there any way it can still be included in the memory book? I understand that completed quilts will be accepted in January. Will any completed quilt tops be accepted before then, like next Tuesday maybe? :-)

Kim, you still have time until Sept. 6 to enter your quilt top in Carol's prototype of her book. Go back to page 7 of this thread and read all of the posts from Margo, Carol, Rosemary, and others. Keep going.

              Cheers,
              Shirley

I love the samples I have seen so far this has been such a remarkable experience, I thought I would get my friendship prototype ready but Life has other plans. My SIL lost her battle with cancer so we are busy with family, making food, being together. My brother is trying to hold it together but she was his soul mate. I am looking forward to seeing all the beautiful work, there is such an abundance of talent in this group. Carol thank you for the work you are doing for this I think I scored 12 of your HST and kept most of them. I have always so easily parted with the quilts I have made but I don't think I will be able to part with these two quilts from the HST and the batik strips, I want to snuggle up in them when I need a hug from all my sisters. Good luck with your projects talk soon Joan

I know what you mean Joan. I can't give these quilts away. I'm so sorry about your SIL. My condolences, prayers for you all but especially for your brother.

Wow....hopefully I just made the deadline for the TQS exchange prototype! Thanks to Margo for the reminder early-on about the importance of value in these scrappy quilts....I like others' scrappy creations but it is more difficult than it looks! Looking forward to getting this quilted and hung in my quilting room, as well as finishing the other two exchange projects....life keeps getting in the way! Nancy

WoW! Nancy ---> Chapeau! Your Medallion quilt is great! What a fanststic job! Bravo! (here in Quebec we say "Chapeau!" which means 'hat' in French. The expression 'Chapeau!" means I tip my hat to you!)

I will try again. This is my second attempt at posting a photo on this page. I know there is a post about how to do it, but too tired to look. I have been fighting with the camera, computer, and myself all evening. I finally sent my emails to Carol, posted a picture to my profile page, and I would like to do this before I go to bed. OK, it is almost 11:45 and I give up. ops: If anyone wants to see my quilt, check my profile. At least I know how to put the pictures there now. I will try to add more tomorrow. Goodnight all!
