Thanks! Pattie and Margo. Patti, I made my scarf...layered silk & yarn, sandwiched b/t water soluble stabilizer and FM stitched. Fun!

Wow that is a beautiful design Candace! I am a lifetime sewer but this will be the largest quilting project I have ever completed so my design is still blossoming, I like the dark sashing and the contrast it give the hst's. Thanks for sharing!

Candace you did a great job on that scarf too. I absolutely love the neutrals & textures.

Candace, your quilt is gorgeous! It really has the WOW factor! I can't wait to see the "final version" of Carol's book! It is going to be out-of-this-world wonderful!

            Happy quilting everyone!

Beautiful quilt, Candace! Love the way the large dark triangles enhance the HST setting.

My top is done, but I can't think where I could put it up to take a picture...it's 106" square (ooof!), and I live in an old, low-ceilinged house. I have a quilt rack, but not sure where I could set it up. Out in the barn? Any ideas?

Hope to start quilting it tomorrow. Then, I *hope* it will be done by December!

Hmmmm...sounds like you aren't "in town"!

Maybe there is a school or church or mall with a blank wall that you could use your quilt rack in front of for photos??? It doesn't hurt to ask!
Carol is asking for shots of the entire quilt, but maybe for the prototype deadline, a photo in the barn could be fun!

FYI....I just got this note from Carol...

I know a lot of people are working very hard to get their tops together by the 9/1 deadline. I have told a few people if they are a few days late that is okay. They went to all the work and I am not going to be a stickler if they are submitted a few days late for the prototype. I have already told a few people this that have sent me emails. They want to take advantage of the Labor Day weekend so I told them it was fine. If you want you can say something on the forum. I would really appreciate it if you would!!! I don't want any one to stress out on this. It is suppose to be fun.

Good to know. I have the top pieced but the picture hasn't been taken. Just picked up 2 of the grandchildren from NJ this afternoon. Its been planned that they visit us this weekend all summer, but now that my DS and DIL have 2 properties and 1 place of business - not to mention baby brother who is too little to go visiting - sitting in Irene's path I may have visitors longer than just the weekend. I hope and pray people listen to the warnings and keep safe, clear out where needed and help one another. It is going to be terrible no matter what path the storm takes. All the models pose a disaster somewhere that will affect millions of people. Prayers. Lois

So glad that you posted that, Margo. I just exhaled big-time! Whew! and double Whew!

My DIL will be away and I am going to babysit the boys (5 and 3) until she returns the 31st, near midnight. Just fiddling around with borders now. My quilt is now larger than my design wall - I may have to look for a mall somewhere, like you suggested to the other lady. Also my son #4 has been given a few days off and asked if he could come to visit - totally unexpected, but I said yes because I haven't seen him in ages. Yup - LIFE happens. So, I'm going to have 2 grandsons and a grown up son for the entire weekend up to Wednesday night. Plus, school starts this week...and this is called being a mom and a gramma, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

Candace, your quilt is awesome.. I love looking at the border combinations, getting ideas for when I get to that!

I won't make the September deadline, however I have a personal deadline to piece in September and quilt soon after.. I have 3 quilts on the go at the moment, and this is number 4 on my list... but football, illness and winter in general has gotten in the way. Only 2 more weeks of football, and my weekends are mine again, at least until he starts athletics! Life!!

I can't wait though, the triangles are ironed and sorted into zip lock bags ready for piecing day. Just have to buy the background fabric.. pattern is chosen... so just got to get the other projects out of the way first!

This is my quilt front so far, the back is slow work in progress but I do hope to finish it by the January deadline. Life has very much got in the way this summer, so not much quilting done, but things are looking up and hopefully life will be back on an even keel soon. Dorothy England
