    It's a Small World

Here is my completed HST friendship quilt. I love the way it turned out! It measures 88" x 88".

Center texture created with my Handi-Quilter's Pro Stitcher computer:

The khaki border was completely free-hand quilted including 8 TQS stars:

Margo, I love this quilt. It looks nearly 3-dimensional on the first photo. The quilting is breathtaking.

Thanks Norma! The texture comes from using cotton batting (Quilter's Dream 100% cotton in this case) and two layer of Ricky Tim's Stable Stuff under the khaki border to give some extra relief to the quilted feathers and pearls and TQS stars!

When I was finished with the binding I washed it in hot water and dried it in a hot dryer to shrink the cotton for the old-fashioned soft puckery look.

However, since I use Crayola Washable Markers to mark registration lines, I always soak the quilt in cold water, and spin that water out before I wash it to get those chemicals out. I've been doing this for 20 years, and have never had a problem getting the marks out!
