    potholder swap

Want something fun to do with TQS sisters & brothers while waiting for our treasured HST's & strips??!!
Anyone interested in a potholder swap? I participated in one last year & it was great fun.
The sky's the limit since you will decide all the issues...color/size/shape/theme/and so on with your swap partner.
I'll be the monitor...it's easy to join.
Just send me an e-mail at

    mailto:tqs.potholderswap@gmail.com

    before May 1, 2011.

After I receive all your e-mails, I will pair you up.
Once you have your swap partner's e-mail, you will communicate with each other to set up the
details of swapping with one another.

You will send the potholder directly to your swap partner...so no need for Guardian Goddess or Sorting Queen.
No one could fill their royal shoes (or Hats!) anyway, bless them!!!

***reminder...be sure to send an e-mail to the above address...

    mailto:tqs.potholderswap@gmail.com

    not my romira one***

And, of course, it's all on the Forum under the topic: Potholder Swap

Ladies (and Gents), start your engines!!

As of this morning, we have 3 pairs of sisters making potholders!!
            It's easy...it's a 7" quilt!

And many thanks to Margo for sorting out my mess-up with posting this new topic!

I've been wondering, since we are in the kitchen -so to speak- how about we also send one of our favourite recipies with the pot holder, the partner specifies savoury or sweet, and then we copy/write up the relevant recipe to send.

But Please if sending international check over the list of ingredients and make sure that they translate! If it is a brand name identify the actual contents as well, and for weights here in UK we (some of us) understand about grammes, ounces & cups but not 'a stick of butter' and our pint is 20 fl oz (all the better for drinking  )

                      great idea Rosemary
yup - combined recipe/potholder swap sounds fab
hmmmmmmm opens up all kinds of new options: picture of the result on front & recipe on back...
but that would limit the recipe size/difficulty - which might not be a bad idea either
not that this is what i will end up doing - but...

Hi - I'm in for the potholder swap - have sent my email to Romira. No problem to send a recipe also. Maybe we can tell a little about ourselves and what our kitchen is like, and then we can try to stretch our imagination to match our partner's colours/tastes. BTW - I have heat resistant batting for making potholders. Now I can use it!

my very first quilt projects were potholders - always have that heat resistant batting around as i also use it for placemats - it's great stuff

not sure if I got your e-mail...did you send it to mailto:tqs.potholderswap@gmail.com ?

As far as size, colors, will you swap just one or a pair, and so on, all these details will be decided by you &
your partner, so anything goes as long as you both agree.

The idea of sending a recipe as well sounds terrific! You are the most creative & thoughtful sisters!
