Well, I am finally to the design wall, all hst's are documented, pressed and de-eared, now the fun begins! I will simply experiment for one more week until I retire and then I can get serious about stitching this altogether
Peggie I love you inside of your quilt and Margo, as always, yours is amazing just the motivation I need.

Hello Ladies,
I found this design in Edytas book Friendship Triangles: the Constellation Throw on page 57. I let my husband select the design he liked best from this book, and this is the one he chose.
In studying the design I discovered that it consists of 16 patch squares, all of which are exactly alike, but simply rotated 90 degrees.
I received mostly colored (as opposed to neutral) HSTs.To make this design it was necessary to have distinct value change, so I made a bunch of neutral HSTs; some with less contrast - (They are not as nice as the ones I received, bc there isn't as much variety .) To get the light / dark contrast in the overall design, the neutral HSTs are placed on one diagonal, and the colored HSTs on the other. I stitched them all together and pressed them exactly the same - planning ahead for seam nesting and ease of assembly. Hahahaha! Everything went along swimmingly until the final assembly of rows. For some reason, the seams did not nest on every other row. I made a little snip in the seam allowance of the offending HSTs and then the seams nested nicely and final assembly was easy.
Sadly there were a couple of really pretty HST that were a smidgen too small, so I wasn't able to use them. So sorry to who ever made them. They will be included in the quilt, however... stay tuned!
Best to all

I still have extra triangles from Lotti in Switzerland if anyone wants them. Please send me your mail address and I will send it out.
Thanks!
Kari
PS - She sent about 50 so there are plenty to go around!

 OMG! I've been out of the "SoTTT LOOP" for 2 weeks and really am sew happy to be back! I missed all of you! Anyway, meeting Maryjo was fabulous 8) 8) 8) ... she's my kinda sistah! She gave me the ultimate invitation to room with her at the IQF in Nov. and I'm going for it! As soon as I've caught up with mail, etc. I will gladly share with all of you what I did with those cute little bunny ears! I brought them on our trip and they helped me convalesce thru a rotten cold I got 4 days into our trip! But, my DH and I still had lots of fun at Disney World! However, meeting Maryjo and Dave were the highlight of the trip for me!
All of the quilts so far are absolutely gorgeous and motivational. Louise, I'm so glad your DH is doing better and hope he gets his surgery done soon. Thank you all for sharing your creativity. And, Margo, as always, you are wonderfully helpful in getting us to the best instructional resources we need to get over little quilting hurdles.
Nancy and Roseanne, I hope someday soon we can also meet. (Maybe at the IQF?)
I totally agree with Ricky's comment after he recovered from his recent illness in WI where he was teaching with Alex and Libby, "...there should be more quilters in the world!" Amen!

I had an amazing last day with my middle school students! There were hugs and well wishes and even a few surprises, a wonderful memory book that all 140 wrote me a message in. I will enjoy these all summer, but am now looking forward to more time for quilting, DH and reading. Life at a different pace. Thanks for you thoughts, Maryjo

Maryjo, wonderful new thoughts, activities, and people are on their way to you in your retirement journey. It's a time for relaxation, reflection, transition, and a new chapter in your life. The best is yet to come. ENJOY! Have a beautiful last day in class tomorrow with your students.

MaryJo, this is a quote I wanted to share with you:
"If a doctor, lawyer, or dentist had 40 people in his office at one time, all of whom had different needs, and some of whom didn't want to be there and were causing trouble, and the doctor, lawyer, or dentist, without assistance, had to treat them all with professional excellence for nine months, then he might have some conception of the classroom teacher's job." ~Donald D. Quinn
Best wishes to you for a full & joyous retirement,
hugs,
