        Louise;

        Hope things are going well for your husband’s recovery. Just got back from a trip & I am just catching up on postings. I am so sorry to hear of your husband’s heart attack. My prayers are being sent your way for a speedy recovery. Please let us know if there is anything your SoTTT can do to help; don’t hesitate to let us know.

        Take care,

          Ok, I'm finally back, and figuring out how to get my image from EQ6 to TQS...
          Here is where I'm thinking of going with this--this image is 4 blocks together, each is simply an eight-pointed star, but with the lights & darks arranged differently, and the blocks rotated, a bunch of secondary patterns emerge. Surely someone's done this before, if anyone knows a name for it let me know! It's very scrappy, I've been cutting a zillion 2 1/2" squares to work with this.

            Florence, that is a great layout! And it's amazing how the whole flavor of the quilt can be influenced by the color of the solid border! Have fun!!

              Florence, I love your idea! So bright and pretty and scrappy. The yellow border makes it so festive and summery. Delish!

                  Florence that's great. I thought the stars might get lost but they pop up unexpectedly for me.

                        This is a bit off topic, however, it is Florence's very interesting EQ6 design that promts the question. Great job Florence. Does anyone out there use Mac software for quilt design? I looked in the Forum for a place for technical questions but didn't find anything? Thanks! Lois B

                          Here is a yahoo group that can answer your questions. For me, I used Bootcamp on my Mac to partition the hard drive. The Microsoft is installed, then you can install EQ. The down fall of doing it this way is you can't use both sides at the same time. There are programs that allow you to use both side. You can research all your options with this group and they can help if you run into problems.

                            Thanks Cheryl, I am interested in knowing anyone that uses the Mac software. Did some research and found this link this morning 1 http://www.softexpressions.com/software. They have quilt software for Macs. It is called Quilt-Pro 5. Anybody using it? Lois B

                              I would be interested in how the quilt pro works on the Mac also.

                                Hi Barbara, Do you have any idea how to get the word out to fellow TQS members who might be using or interested in using this software. Perhaps we need to start a new blog. I am going in about as many directions as I can manage right now but I am still interested in getting more information from people who are using the software. I know you need to have the Snow Leopard OS and that is about the extent of what I know. While I am thinking about going in that direction I am also trying to track down a treadle sewing machine. I think I just need to make a few quilts on a treadle machine. I guess there is nothing wrong with designing those quilts on a computer now is there? LoisB
