Here in UK it is called Mothering Sunday (and is celebrated on the sunday before Palm Sunday). I was at my parents church for the service, and the priest made a very good sermon, saying that 'Mothering' is not just restricted to Mothers, but some of the best 'mothering' he has experienced had been done by people who are not parents, not married and sometimes not even female, but all the same it was lovingly and skillfully done. A very thoughtful insight. So a Happy Mothering Sunday to everyone.

Happy Mother's Day to all! I just delivered an new diaper to one of my students, 7th grader, who lost one of the 2 diapers she has for her weekend baby project. They take care of the Reality Works Baby, check out their website. Baby is robotic and needs all the care a real newborn needs and it even gets fussy just like real babies do. I always enjoy the Monday update they have to give to the class about their experience. They suddenly now appreciate all their Mothers have done for them. I have one more week of babies going home for this school year and then I will be retirning on June 10th after 43 years. I am joyous and a wee bit sad. I know I will miss my kids but I can't wait to get to my hst's.
Quilting is a little like mothering - We nuture fabric and share our creativity with it to help it become something special in the world.

Hi, I can appreciate to "huge" job that you took on, but... I just received my HST's last Friday. Finally had a moment to look at what had been sent back to me. I am sorry, but I'm disappointed. I sent 504 HST's and only received 232 HST's back. When I opened the package it just didn't look even close to the amount that I sent, so I sat down and counted them. This isn't even half of what I sent out. Sorry, I am very disappointed. A difference of 10 or so, okay, but over half???? I am very sad.
Anyone else have this happen to them or am I the only one?
Just found out that there may be two boxes of HST's, so I'll be watching the post for the next package..Naspen

I couldn't help myself, just had to open and look. Sorted and would you believe not one from another Aussie or New Zealander, I have Switzerland, Germany, Scotland and Canada and of course the rest of from US. Thank you all to those who sent extras as donations, I am going to book the hall to start making the quilts with lots of helpers.
Now I am going to sit in front of the tellie and take papers off while DH makes dinner, at least I hope he will if he is hungry enough.....
Cheers,

Hi all,
I got a box of HST last week, and was getting a bit worried as I handed in 700 and only got about 300 in return. :? Finally today the other box arrived with Golden Triangles today.. How lucky am I ... but I must have about 80 with no information on them at all..completely blank.
I love, love, love, the triangles, and I will have help with all the pressing. Let the fun Begin
thanks go to Debbie and Clara for their patience and all their hard work, and also to Ritzy for the Batic exchange. Also to everyone who participated. If anyone out there wants some from Australia to add to their collection, please send me an email and I will send you some of the extras I have made.
Thanks Clara, they finally arrived today!
Thanks again to everyone
