    Got to spend a bit more time with my treasures late this afternoon and found one from Loti in Switzerland. That makes 5 from 4 countries. Also counted the states -- 42. Sorry to disappoint my sisters but they all went into my supply bag and into my project drawer. I must finish a wedding quilt this week before Friday. I'll play later when I can enjoy all those fabrics!

    Short Bio: I'm nearly 75 years old, celebrating 55 years of marriage in June, have 2 grown sons, one with a family and one not; one granddaughter. Started quilting in the mid 80s and really got going in the late 90s after I retired. Love my water aerobics and am active with friends and actitivities at a fitness center in Loma Linda, CA. After knee replacements last September, I'm looking toward a bit of gardening this summer. I can't believe how much better I can walk these days.

      I just want to add that YES my HST came today also. What is so amazing to me is to see so much fabric that I have never laid eyes on before. I want to add that all of the triangles that I have opened are just beautiful and I can see where there was a lot of care into making of these.
      I think I will also make a list also and then print it to make square for the backing. Someone else suggested this but I don't remember who.
      Thanks to Debbie and everyone else connected with this exchange, how you pulled it off it beyond me. Maybe you could write a book?
      I will be making the Constellation Throw from Edyta's Friendship Triangles book. I am not going to plan anything, or lay our any of the triangles, as I pick them up that is how I will use them. I can't see where any of them would not get along just great with the rest.
      Again Thanks and I hope we can do something like this again sometime. It really has been fun.

I only opened about half of them to look at the beautiful fabrics, and I pulled aside a few of our international sisters (Yay for Lotti and ScottishQuilter!). About the only other things that I can report is that the first one I pulled from the bag was from Shirley in Gresham OR (thanks!!!), and I don't think I received any of my own back(!) Good thing I kept one of each to add to my quilt. After I count, etc, I will post more. In the meantime, it is almost 7:30 pm here in California, and I still haven't started dinner ops: My husband may regret going to the PO today!
          :lol: Oh my, Leslie, HAPPY DANCE, HAPPY DANCE for you and your precious HSTs! You made my day when you said mine was the first one you opened! I appreciate your sharing that sweet tidbit! :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen: Thank you :!:

                Well, I am pretty excited. Got my triangles yesterday. I sorted them by state and country just to see. California and Texas were the most prolific and I recieved 15 from 7 countries and two of my own. Disappointing is the 19 unsigned ones. But I know there love is there. My only plan at this point is to break down and buy Edyta's Friendship Triangle book and I know the celebrity triangles will be in the middle so they are easier to show off. I just keep thinking about all those loving, caring hands wrapped around me when I finally get it done and my 'Quilt of Many Hands' (yes, this one is already named) will be wrapped around me! Thank you sorting and organizing crew. And, yes, you should write a how to for future exchanges. I do have duplicates from foreign countries if anyone wants to 'exchange'(?)!
                Two from Germany I can exchange. They are duplicated.
                Now is a great time to post a profile picture and update your profile!

                      Dear SoTTT’s ( & Brother’s is implied too);

                      I rec’d my package yesterday afternoon! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: The package was left lying up against my back red door as if a shy young boy had snuck up & left some flowers for my long gone teenage girl & couldn’t even bring himself to ring the door bell.

                      You guys don’t understand our mail doesn’t get delivered to our door!! USPS doesn’t even deliver our mail! They contract it out to be delivered privately & USPS made us put our mailboxes down the street & around the corner on a state rd.

                      I didn’t know the package was there for hours! When I finally saw it through my window; I wasn’t sure what it was as the UPS & Fed Ex always rings our doorbell when they leave something & I knew my doorbell hadn’t been rung that day. I slowly went to the door, opened it while my three longhaired Chihuahuas & one Papi-Chi work themselves into an excited state thinking we have a guest. I finally recognized the packaged and grabbed it! I did my version of a Happy Dance; which resulted in stepping on one of our dog’s tail. Which of course I didn’t even know until I heard the squeal. I looked at them to see which one may be injured & they looked at each other while I’m yelling “Oh, I’m sorry, I’m sorry, my HST’s are here, my HST’s are here! They all looked at me like I was nuts, & then preceded running around the house like they did when I stepped on the tail of a squirrel. They, I guess thought the squirrel needed my assistance & unbeknownst had brought it in the house via their doggie door. It ended up they were correct, the squirrel was just un-conscious. When I backed up in the kitchen while cooking & felt the fur under my bare foot & didn’t hear a yelp, I knew something was wrong! As I slowly turned around to what it was I had stepped on; the first thing I saw was all four of them sitting together in a row patiently looking at me in their alert mode! When I looked down & saw this squirrel laying on its back all stretched out. . . but that is a whole other story.

                      Anyway, my HST’s arrived in beautiful shape! I haven’t looked at the fabric yet as I am documenting where they came from, sorting them into States, taking photos, etc. I am a history buff so I am going very slowly. Here is a photo of what I have done so far. I can tell you, for those who haven’t gotten their package yet it is definitely worth waiting for! This has been an incredible journey & I don’t know about you guys but I have a long way to go to design & make a quilt! Is there anyone out there that didn’t label their HST’s that might want to ID their HST’s now? If so, let me know & I will post some photos of the HST’s. If I don’t get any responses I don’t want to take up the space & that is okay. They could have just been accidentally unlabeled too as I know at the last minute I caught a few of mine unlabeled. But if you want to remain anonymous that is okay too; they will still be loved & included in my quilt!! Sorry I am such a wordy, talkative person. Happy Easter all, I have been surely Blessed –DH is working as it is Heritage Golf Weekend; full crew of Firemen on board!! Now we will both be busy this weekend!! :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: Thank you Thank you Thank you especially to Debbie, Clare, TQS & Sorters & all participating SoTTT’s your HST’s are truly loved!!

                              Yesterday would have been a good Friday whether or not it was the Friday before Easter because I received my HST's! I haven't had time to tally up anything but I cannot wait to play with them. I have been playing with the ones from the Batik exchange until I've almost worn them out Who knew that little squares of fabric could bring so much joy to so many people? Then I saw the video about the Alzheimers quilt being exhibited for the first time. My Mothers name is on one of the faded purple strips on that quilt and she is the one that taught me to sew and to love fabric. What a day!

                              Thank you to all the sorters. I was one of the lucky ones who received a square signed by Edyta!
