I've used EQ5 & EQ6, I'm sure also barely using all of its capabilities but I definitely enjoy it, no idea about photoshop... but Margo I love the visual I got when I read about the "nearly nekkid paper-dolls"!!

Here is the nearly nekked paper doll that we started with in the Photoshop Elements class, and how she looked after one of the first lessons!

Would it be best to just skip it and upgrade to EQ7? I've read mixed reviews about it being not as user friendly, but the newer features sound wonderful! I would love to be able to draw my Sue's and the guys on the computer than on paper, but I don't want to spend months learning how to do it! I'm open to any thots. Thanx!
However, I do have a suggestion for you. Learn EQ for your layout, but you might want to consider using Photoshop to design your Sues and guys. Maybe EQ will do it, but the ability to create separate layers in PS would be perfect for designing your costumes. You could start with the same basic shape (if you wanted to) like a nearly nekked paper doll, and dress each one with layers that are easily changed and/or completely removed. I use PS Elements software that came with my Wacom Bamboo tablet, so it's drawing with a pen-like stylus instead of trying to draw with a mouse. I'm lovin' in!! I took an on-line class through the Quilt Whisperer to learn PS and she will be offering another one this summer. http://www.quiltwhisper.com/forum/in...db5d3ebba7ac54
In the meantime, her is the tablet that I'm using: http://www.wacom.com/en/Products/BambooTablets.aspx

Shirley, I am also new to understanding and using all the bells and whistles at this TQS site, especially on the Forum. I just added you to my favorites with the hope that we might meet in the future. My daughter used to live in Happy Valley and a few years ago while visiting her I think I was in Gresham on one of your Shop Hop days. Daughter now lives in Milwaukie so I will be there again! Thanks to this exchange, my first, I feel like I have a whole new circle of wonderful friends Glad you put up a picture, it's nice to put a face with all the comments.
This Forum just keeps getting better and better every day! 8) Barbara Anne, I would love to meet with you someday and talk with my SoTTT sister! What fun this is!

My sewing machine hasn't been turned on for three months now...sure hope it still remembers how to sew and I hope that I remember how to sew, too.

I was thrilled to find a package waiting for me on the kitchen table so I tore it open and started sorting. I was thrilled to find out that I have HST from 38 states, Austrialia, Canada and the Netherlands! I didn't even get one of my own. Thank you for all of your hard work -- it is very much appreciated!

Woo Hoo!  They came! They came! Dana, my daughter in the picture at the sewing machine, helped me sort them by state and country. 45 states and 7 countries. I did get one of mine back but it was a happy surprise! Funny thing is, I have a bunch that weren't labeled, and boy is my imagination having fun with those places. It was soo much fun reading the source locations on them and recognizing names and faces. Now to catch my breath and take my time pressing them open. Ohh, the wonder that awaits!
@Karen, thank you for your kind comment. She really is surprising

Originally posted by sforster395Great idea about the 'like' button. Why don't you send that to TQS as a suggestion? I suggested that they to add a Favorites Button on shows, lessons, etc. so we could save them. I used to have to write down where something was when I knew I wanted to find it again and I thought the 'Favorites' button could be helpful. They listened to the suggestion, added a cute red heart with a plus sign to many features, and they did it in less than a week! How's that for caring about the TQS community?
Shirley, the 'favorites' button is a cute little red heart with a plus sign inside of it. If you go to the Daily Blog page, right at the top right of the first blog, you'll see one. If you click on it, it will add it to 'Your Favorites'. To then see your list of 'Your Favorites', go to 'My Account' at the far right on the Navigation Bar. You'll see 'My Favorites' in the drop down menu. When you pick that it will show you a list of shows, blogs, quilts, lessons, etc. that you want to be able to watch or look at again. You'll just click on the what you want to see again and it will take you right to that article, show or whatever. I like to use it for shows I know I'll want to watch a second time, like Edyta's segment. Try it and see how you like it!
I'm still learning about the Forum myself, so you and I probably know about the same amount about that!

NOW PLAYING ON YOUR DAILY BLOG!!!!
Has anyone had a chance to watch Margo's video on today's Daily Blog? You'll need to scroll down a few articles to find it. She shows us the correct way to press our HSTs open and then remove the papers so they don't become distorted. Very, very helpful...thank you, Margo!

They're here, they're here, they're finally here! Woo hoo! Can you tell I'm excited? I haven't sorted them yet. I will do that on Tueday when my good friend and teaching partner and I meet. She was out of town when I discovered the exchange on the deadline day, so I sent in twice as many so that we could both share the wealth.
Now I have to get busy and design a quilt to use all of the beautiful triangles in. We have also started triangle exchanges with the two guilds that we belong to and with one of our long term quilting classes. We hope to continue those exchanges for about six months. We added many guide lines to those exchanges to make it more manageable for us.
Debbie, Clara and all of the sorting Angels, thank you so much for taking on this monumental exchange. It is the first time that I have participated in an exchange and followed a forum. I have throughly enjoyed it, from picking the fabric, completing the triangles and all of the anticipation. Ladies you have once again shown the generosity that quilters are known for. May all of the SoTTT sisters and brothers have a blessed Easter.

BarbaraAnne, I'm sure there are others, but I took a 3 week basic class through the Quilt Whisperer web site. They will be offering it again this summer.
