I have completed the first wave of shipping yesterday and figured I would buckle down and get busy sorting. I have a huge tote staring at me filled with tons of these HSTs. Worked till midnight last night. Today, I decided to just do this all day today and through the weekend. Make a big dent. I found a HST on my floor (right where I was working) this morning. It was one of mine. What are the odds of that! I've got the Harry Potter series running. Figured it was appropriate. Besides I can wrap up the marathon by watching the latest release.

Better get back to it! You should see my shirt and all the threads! Clara

clara - 2 hrs at the post office:
WOW - but then, they are often not so used to large numbers of packages to various different destinations at the smaller post offices
when i was at the post office in st. albans, vermont to ship choccies & HSTs to debbie in texas for the sorting, strips with two return shipment flat rate boxes pre-stamped for shipping to switzerland to barbara in texas for the sensational strippers exchange, and 2 large flat-rate boxes of fabrics i had just purchased to myself in switzerland - they were royally confused - the main problem being that they could not get their mind around the fact that the two unused flat-rate-boxes for the return shipments should have US stamps on them if they are eventually going to switzerland... quite a few unhappy people in line behind me... but we all got there in the end
and my boxes of fabric have arrived in switzerland before me and i'm now busy busy busy washing and ironing - keeping me very busy till those lovely HSTs get here too
have just fabricated a tripple layer design wall so that i can play with the strippers-strip, the SOTTT HSTs and my fabric mosaic quilt i am planning for my niece all at the same time (well - without having to clear one project away in order to work on another in between)

      - and now another weekend sorting and packing :? THANK YOU for your perseverance - we truly are GRATEFUL

Clara, I'm going to sound like an echo and a parrot, but words cannot convey how grateful we all are for what you, Debbie, and other volunteers continue to do for us until this wonderful, Mt. Everest-type project is finished. All of you have been so generous with your time and energy! I'm going to sit and pet my HST's all day long when I get them! Can't wait to get my hands on those little suckers!

Houston: just checked out Margo's link - thanks
unfortunately i'll not be able to make it to that show in the next few years - unless the move the date considerably
it's just 2 weeks before my largest show of the year (from my actually paying for my hobbies, living, funning, etc full time job...)
and at that show i'm supposed to be responsible for the complete set-up, organization and show of 250 square meters of medical devices and over 100 staff members from the world-wide sales-network attending - guess i'll have to win the lottery and retire early...
          BUT - and what a great BUT this is: :P :P :P
          I HAVE JUST PUT IN MY VACATION FOR JUNE 2012 :P :P :P :P :P
to attend the International Quilt Show in Galway, Ireland   :P :P
now all i have to do - is choose & sign up for a class or two and book a place to stay

                    Great Idea Margo
have just started a Forum for
the 2012 International Quilt Show in Galway, Ireland NEXT (not this - NEXT) June!

Would be great if the "local" (meaning all those attending - from wherever they are) TQSrs, SOTTTs, Strippers, Potholders, Batikers, etc. could meet up in Galway in June 2012 !!!

have taken a lesson from Debbie and reserved the first few blogs for updates / whatever we might find useful as we go along

just as an incentive to visit this wonderful island, i am adding a few very very very old pictures from my very first visit to ireland (sorry these are scanned old pictures) back in 1996...

Ireland is always worth a visit - and yes - the 1996 trip was followed by a more in-depth hiking trip a few years later - another visit is LONG overdue !!!

                            Lotti,
My daughter is going to Ireland next year to celebrate a wedding aniversary. It would be cool if she could be there in June. I went four years ago and lost all my pictures when my computer crashed and I hadn't backed it up. You are correct, it is a wonderful island.

Unfortunately I think every part of Texas is in a drought. We have a large pond (what we call tank) for the horses and it is bone dry. Yes, we are in dangerous need of some rain, and some more rain, and more.

Nope, not watching the latest one yet, but I did just pick it up when I picked up the boys from school. I figured I would be sorting enough this whole weekend to go through the series. Sorcerer's Stone is complete. Time to run the second one. They are great to have on in the background. Partial distraction from the endless counting. Got to put away the groceries, get dinner started and back to it. Clara
