Originally posted by sewmartiI've finished my HSTs but am down with a respiratory infection and am not clear headed enough to package. Hopefully that will be done in the next few days. Anyway, I have a question regarding the Batik Tonga strips. I plan on using them in a quilt and have washed up some fat quarters I'm using but I'm not sure about these 2 inch strips. I always wash everything that will be used on a bed and this is a bed quilt. Do I wash or not?
Thanks

Originally posted by ritzyI just read on the Sisterhood thread about how Debbie is doing her organizing. I am doing mine the same way except I am using a database to keep my info. organized. I put in the date you let me know that you mailed your package and then I check everyday to see if any are long over due. Just received a package from England and it took 5 days to get here--not bad. My hope is the more organized I am now--the easier it will be later.
It is important that you tape the flap on your envelopes. I received one this week that was open--everything was in there but the glue didn't hold. I think possibly it was when the mail person shoved it in the mailbox she squeezed the air out and that opened the package when she shoved more in--I received 7 packages that day.
To date I have received 41 packages so I have a lot more to get yet.
I hope you don't mind, but I borrowed your message about securely taping the envelopes and included that on our SoTTT's Forum today. I've had that happen several times and mentioned it before, but it's a good message to repeat. It mostly seems to happen when using the manila envelopes with a brad and 'lick to seal' flaps.
Thanks from your neighboring exchange   ...

Now I am worried about my package. I did not use scotch tape. Yikes! I tried to explain the exchange to my hubby. He just does not get it! Oh well, I do not get his hobby either, listening to dogs chasing a cayote in a 100 a acre pen!
Have a great day everyone.

Tomorrow is March 1st. That means only two weeks for your HSTs to get to my house. I have received packages from 48 ladies. One from Australia and UK today so that is good to see the oversea packages arriving. All the packages I have received have arrived in good shape except for the one that I already told you about. A little tape and we won't have to worry about that. So, I am excited. Checking the mail has been fun. I am sure our postal workers are wondering what is going on. Wait until I walk in with 137 packages to go out. Maybe, I should check to make sure I don't have to let them know ahead of time.

It's wonderful people like you, Debbie, Clara, Barb, Margo, etc who have encouraged the rest of us to participate! It's fun! I have to be an extrovert at work but in my private life (with the things I hold dear like quilting) I have always been introverted and rather shy to participate much less show someone my work. But you know what? There were no skills tests to be admitted to the exchanges or the blog and I (among many others I'm sure) am just darn happy to get to play! I love to see the comments from everyone inside the states and outside too! Maybe we do share a "universal spirit"...it makes my heart smile!
I'm working on the picture but in 10 years of marriage my hubby has only been able to get 2 pictures of me and those are hidden where he doesn't look (cleaning closet  ).
Thanks for being the conductor on this leg of the journey!

Hey Lori,
lots of members put up pictures of pieces they have done, or other family members (including pets!) It doesn't have to be a picture of you if you are totally photo-phobic, but something of yours, which is more interesting than the starting outline. Or how about a photo of you standing behind one of the purple hills in Colorado (if you have hills), or behind one of your quilts, that could be fun

Lori, I understand about the picture. I rarely take a good picture. My family started telling me that there are never any pictures of me at family events so I have to let them take some. Ritzy my triangles will be in the mail this week. We relocated to the Seattle area for a month before heading home and I am finally settled so have time to finish them up.
