Getting my face back where it is supposed to be I am still looking like I was dropped down from the moon! I am amazed, schocked, happy and soooooooo honored, more than I can tell using simple words! TQS-girls is the best group of girls ever! I hope I can give you all big hugs in Houston in Nov...if not I am sending viritual hugs to all of you...hoping you understand how greatful I am and how blessed I feel. I will make the real "Friendship quilt" thanks to all of you!!!!!!

How uplifting it was to wake up this morning to wake up to all of these wonderful comments, I too have come to the realisation that it is the beauty of the hearts that we are receiving as well as the beauty of the fabrics and it doesn't really matter if they are a little wrinkled or not quite the right color or whatever else it is the story of the people and their hearts that makes it up. This quilt I will be keeping, to roll myself up in and dream of all that life has bestowed on the givers out there. Ritzy your little block is great and I wonder if you would mind if I used the picture of it to try out Margo's instructions for uploading, thank you both, hope it works

When we were growing up, my father used to tell my sister and I that the world is full of friends we hadn't met yet - this forum makes me think of his words over and over. This is exactly what he was talking about. Beverly

maybe you can find a 2-1/2 inch strip exchange. :-)
If you use Thangles, you can use the 2-1/2" strips! I used them and even cut them apart for smaller scraps to be used! Definitely not too many in my pile that match! bev

What a wonderful thing to grow up hearing! Your Dad must have been a wise man.

One of our local quilt shop's motto is "There are no strangers here - only friends you have not yet met".

                          Sisters,
I'll be putting my HSTs together for mailing this weekend! (I'll need to find a new temporary obsession for the next several weeks...)

My question is whether the Queensland group might welcome some 2.5 inch squares or strips along with the HSTs? (If this was in the original post - my apologies! Way too many posts to go on a search now.)

Success!! Margo you are a jewel!!!
Dawn, your mini is going to be wonderful!!!!! It will be so fun to see what it looks like finished. It will be exciting to see what other TQS Sisters do with their HSTs. I got back on Wednesday and have been busy so not having too much time to check out the blogs. Thank you for letting me know that fellow sisters are having a fun time with this. This was so uplifting to see all the blogs on this. Thank you dear TQS Sisters!!!!! My BIL is doing well and hopefully they got all the cancer after removing his kidney. My sister is exhausted, I wish I could do more for her. Each day we would do something to keep her spirits up. We went to our favorite quilt store in Kalona, IA. and that really helped. My sister's quilt did not get done at the quilters so I was not able to give it to her, but I found some other little gifts that she would like. I stopped by Pine Needles in Cedar Rapids and picked up a Sarah Vedeler's Hearts Embroidery Collection CD for her. She loves to machine embroidery. It was the perfect gift for her. I attached a picture of some of the hearts she can make using this CD. It will be exciting to see what she makes with the collection on the CD. I enjoy giving gifts that keep on giving. I hope this one will keep her mind busy and having fun while her husband in re-cooping.

Have a great weekend everyone and have fun playing with your HST. It is going to be exciting to see what everyone does with them!!!!!

                            Hugs, Carol

What a great group we are! I'm teary eyed after reading the most recent postings. Dear Hanne-Grette, you are so welcome. I wish I could go to Houston in November but I don't think it will be possible for me this year. I would so love to meet some of you. If I EVER get another job the first thing I will save for will definitely be the Houston trip. Something I've always wanted to do.

Hanne-Grete, We weren't able to be there to help mop up after your flood, but we are able to express our love in other ways.

Roine, going to the Houston Quilt Festival is an amazing experience, but meeting other TQS members in person, who we havegot to know from the website, is absolutely wonderful. We surely do make friends for life through this amazing online quilting community.
