Fluffball - Where was the postal worker's "sign?" You remember the song "Here's Your sign" by Jeff Foxworthy? Well, if said postal worker had had his/her sign, you would have known you needed to nurse him/her along! :lol: You just assumed the professional knew his/her job. :? Common sense says coming or going, it is the same price! Just goes by weight between the two same cities :!:

I think it would be nice if they posted just the Mailing Instructions on the daily blog. That would put the focus on what you need people to correct. That and the not pressing. Seems those are the only major areas of concern.

On the subject of open pressed hsts. I'm sure that nobody wants to receive distorted, wrinkled hsts especially when they themselves have taken the time to follow the directions given, it will prove all too hard and will certainly put most off of taking part in any more exchanges, under circumstances like that maybe the sender should be notified and be asked to resubmit another batch, I know that they went to a lot of trouble doing them in the first place but it will keep everyone in the exchange happy I'm sure that nobody wants to receive distorted triangles especially seeing that they took the trouble to follow dirctions carefully. I know that this is harsh but certainly well intended for the future of exchanges. :roll: :roll: Thank you so much for all your sorting etc. you are an absolute gem

I think that as long as I only get 1 or 2 open hst then it is not too bad. I can deal with the couple I might get (just hope there are not to many).

Just received Edyta's Friendship Triangle book from Amazon (my LQS had sold out!) - I think I'm in trouble. Every page I turned to caused my husband to gasp and say "wow, look at that one." I think he wants one of everyone... I may be doing exchanges for a long time! I'm about half way done and have decided to 616! There's no such thing as left overs after you see all the patterns...

I agree, as long as there are only a few hst that are pressed, that won't be a problem for me. I really think that the sisters and/or brothers that haven't submitted their hst yet really need to go back several times to read, read, read and re-read all of your requests and instructions, as you have so plainly, and in simple English, put forth to everyone. I apologize if this sounds rude and crude, but having to repeat these instructions over and over is utterly ridiculous. I know there are probably a few new quilters out there that haven't worked on paper piecing before however the instructions are very clear.

As a happy side note, I have found more fabrics to make hst for the sisters in Australia. I will be forwarding them on in a few days. Thank you for all that you have done and are doing with the SOTTs. Bless you.

They may not have a chance to thaw out since we're also experiencing wintery weather conditions in Houston today and tomorrow. It didn't get above 32 today and that's pretty darn cold for us...wimps that we are in the South! But nothing nearly as bad as what you've been getting.

Too bad you don't already have your HST's so you could stay inside and start sewing your project together.

[ANOTHER BIG PROBLEM: I also received several packages again today with the HST's pressed open when they were supposed to be left folded. One was a package of 700 pressed-opened HSTs and because they were opened and put in one large baggie, a lot of them are already wrinkled and already distorted . I'm not sure how to handle this, especially since everyone else is being so careful to follow the direction on not pressing them open. It really bothers me to have to send then opened HSTs to those of you who are being conscientious and making an effort to send them in correctly and hope to get them back in the same manner you sent yours.

Well, Debbie, there is one logical thing to do with the ones that are pressed open-stuff them in the retrun envelope and drop ii into the nearest mailbox back to the sender so they can be repressed. (Or, spend your valuable time pressing those 700 and hoping they aren't too distorted!) I would dare say they were some of the first ones made and in her excitement the maker did not take time to read the instructions carefully!
Mine were all ready to cut apart when I reread the info and found the new addition of location added, so I have been hand writing Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA! I want to move to Ada, Ohio, USA! But, have too much "Stuff" to pack up and do that, so will just rest the hand and finish that another day! :P Bev (Kwiltpharm)

This is just a suggestion and maybe not doable....Could the instructions be posted as bullet points. Then each step could be checked off by the sender as it is done. This may be too big of a job at this point, but I think it would help.

Sisters and Brothers, We all make mistakes sometimes. I will be happy with a couple of ironed open HST's. I'm sure we can make it work. I also made a mistake. Sameone twice!! My Bernina goes back to a default stitch length every time I turn it off, and a couple of times I forgot to shorten my stitch length. I was afraid of ripping the paper if I tried to remove stitches and restitch. They are not cut apart yet. What do you think, should I remove my longer stitches or leave them?? Not a whole paper was involved either time. I have 14 papers done and 11 to go. I am heading to Omaha tomorrow. I have a stiff neck from sewing. I need a break. Everyone stay happy and healthy.

Hi Sisters,
Now things are almost back to normal and I have received my papers, etc. I have been showing the ladies at 2 of our fabric shops drumming up support and it seems like I will have to hire a small library hall over the Easter weekend to do the sewing. I thought that I had retired to sew and scrapbook but somehow I can't stop organising things, silly me, I really should let the younger ones do that.....but.... just can't stop. lol....

Let's be nice and graciously accept any triangles that we get. If some of them are pressed open that's just less work for us. And if they get wrinkled we all know how to use an iron. Those who are pressing them open are already going to be doing double work because they will have to press again when they get the exchange triangles. I think the confusion started at the very beginning when we were told to cut the triangles apart before pressing to set the seams. It took me several times before I understood that we were just to set the seams and I already knew the easiest way to do that was before cutting the triangles apart.
