Dorothy-your blocks are beautiful. I am making the same blocks but haven't started as I just received my hsts yesterday. I do have all my other fabrics washed and ready to go.

All I can say is WOW!!! Magnificent!!! Is the design in the border just from the quilting?

        Dorothy,
I really like your tree of life, I am still pressing & stripping paper and bunny ears, but this quilt has been on my favored list since I got the book. Like you color choices!

Yes, Kathy! And the quilting is gorgeous too!

I'm looking forward to trying the tip Jo Morton gave a couple shows ago about clipping in front and after the intersection to get that fan out of the intersection. I need to go back and try to fix some of my
blocks on the 2010 BOm because I could not make them lie flat and you're working with much smaller so I wanted to know if you found something that worked. Until I find something to work for me, I can't
even think about a miniature even though I love what you're doing.

Patti, you might want to see my tutorial for the Beloved Beauties BOM where I show how I twirl the intersections to get them flat: learn/all-boms

Gosh, I've been humbled by all of the gorgeous designs posted by other members. Margo - your quilt is simply over the top! If it works, I've uploaded my block with the "golden" triangles - which is what my quilt blocks will look like. That one is going to be framed - no way I'm putting it in a quilt and risk something happening to it I was thrilled (and more than a little intimidated) to be working with hsts from some of the rock stars of the quilting world. This is for the batik hsts - haven't decided on what to do with the other stack, but the rest of you have certainly given me ideas, especially the friendship star block. I think I will put the hsts from my sisters and brothers in the pinwheel center of the blocks, surrounded by the extra hsts I made. I chose a star pattern because of the TQS symbol - and who doesn't like stars? I'd appreciate any feedback.

                  Warm regards,
                  Sheila

Thanks, Margo - coming from you that is high praise. I should have mentioned whose hsts are in the block. The four corners are scrap fabrics from my stash. The first row is Edyta and Me The second row is Debbie Wolf, Ricky, Alex and Margo The third row is Me, Alex, Ricky and Me And the last row is Me and Barb. What a treasure this will be for me.

Thanks Margo for the reference. You're the best.

I just love seeing all the different projects. I see that Margo has started another thread so I better go hop over there.

Thanks for the nice comments on my doggie project. It's my friend's Bichon - Cooper - who she had to hand feed due to his tremendous overbite. Cooper was made of four shades of hand-dyed fabric. It's a technique I learned from Maria Elkins "Making Faces" video.

                            Ciao!
