    Friendship Triangle Exchange

Is anyone thinking of doing an exchange not using Batiks? Also, does anyone know the name of the pattern of the quilt hanging next to the houses quilt on this show?

Keep an eye out for the Weekend Fun. There will be a slideshow with Edyta's quilts and their names this weekend.

Hi bean 53...I would like to do the exchange with 1800's repros...Civil War, DAR and the like. Is there anyone else out there? I know some one tried to get an exchange with 30's fabrics and I haven't seen that post in days. It seems like everyone is into batiks but I do not have any in my stash. The exchange should be a lot of fun and I want to play too! What other fabrics would you like to exchange?

I need to start another project like I need a hole in the head, but I thought it might be fun to participate in an exchange. Rather than batiks and triangles, I'd like to exchange 2 1/2" strips in "black and whites" or maybe "blue and whites". I really like two-color quilts, but mostly I'd prefer exchanging strips over triangles.

I'm with you, Nancy! I'm going to do the triangle exchange, but what I would love to do is a scrappy strip exchange, where each set is made up of variations of only one color. I'm thinking that the spool quilt shown on Edyta's episode (802) would be fun to do if all the spools looked like one color of thread.

Maybe after the triangle exchange has been sent in (April?) we can work up a different one????

We will probably need to get a different person (people?) to volunteer to be the "home base" and do all the sorting so that the gals in Texas aren't overwhelmed!
Or, maybe we will need to organize exchanges locally. Maybe through our local quilt shops?

I love the idea of a strip exchange after this one is completed! I'm sure we'll learn many valuable 'do's and 'don'ts' this first time around, so another exchange could be a lot easier to get off the ground. Edyta's books and patterns have opened a whole new world of opportunites for us to touch our members and make friends around the world.

            Keep the exchange ideas coming!

Margo, I think we could start a new post exclusively for new exchange ideas and suggestions...what do you think?

Bean 53 -- for the Sisterhood Triangle Exchange, you definitely don't have to use batiks at all. You are welcome to just use prints and mix in some reproductions too. We don't want to exclude anyone from the fun, so whatever you have on hand will look great in anyone's quilts. It's strictly scrappy!

And if you have scrap pieces large enough to make just one or two HST's, that will be fine too No one has to make a whole sheet of the same colors.

Disappointed that it is not exclusive to batiks. Now it's anything goes. I'd love a more specific trade. Even, like, blue batiks, or only plaids, or just black & white. Stuff like that. Maybe next time.

OK, I'll start a new topic. Maybe members who are interested in more narrowly defined exchanges can find each other!

                    Hello Everyone,

I was suggesting a strip exchange in additional to, not in lieu of, the batik triangle exchange. I really like Margo's idea of starting it after the triangle exchange, so we can learn from the first exchange. Also, that would allow me time to complete my UFO's for my guild's upcoming quilt expo in March.

Edyta's "spools of thread" quilt sang to me, but I loved all of her quilts--Great Show!

I also fell in love with the spool quilt. It's on my to-do list.

Judy Braten again -- how silly of me early this morning -- Happy Quilter Wyo -- used my wrong user name. I'm still in and still excited!

This is growing! At first I thought I'd go for making one sheet of 28, but I've ordered two packages! I wish all you organizers out there my heartfelt best wishes and a prayer or two towards the nitty gritty of getting all the organizing done. I've ordered my papers from Edyta, but also notice that you can print out HST's from other sites, such as http://www.quiltingandwhatnot.ca/ and they seem to be perfect. You can print them out on your home printer with 'no scaling'. Just make sure you MEASURE the test square! Talk soon!

Friendly reminder. If you want to sign up for the Sisterhood of the Traveling Triangle Exchange please post in that section. However if you meant to leave a post for this one than great. I'm not trying to take any away, we've had some people said they posted and later couldn't find it. So, I thought I would leave this.
