Both my parents were born in PA. moved to Niagara Falls where I grew up with my 4 brothers. My parents were teased by being called stump jumpers because they came from PA. There was a lot of strip mining for coal - it's sad how it ruined the hillsides (the rocky mess was called boney piles by my relatives). This is just some trivia about the northern middle area of the state where my parents are from. In eastern PA there use to be a lot of dress factories before jobs went oversea for cheaper labor.

Lois, so near yet so far! We were in Harrisburg and Hershey for the Hershey swap meet and car show fall of 2013. DH shipped his car to Harrisburg for storage before the show. We flew into Dulles and rented a car for three weeks. We toured in and around Williamsburg, VA and New England. Beautiful fall foliage in Susquehanna Valley! Loved Stowe, VT, attended a quilt show in Orford, NH and shopped at Keepsake Quilting in Center Harbor, NH. What a fun trip!

Lois, the river looks beautiful. I was thinking the same as Rosemary. What a beautiful place to canoe. And, if you dump, you can just stand up.
I bet it would be fun to float on a tube on it too. Our rivers here in Missouri are pretty too, but usually are pretty swift flowing.
I hope Izzy gets a good grade on her report
