Anyone know how to repair leather?

My son's favorite leather jacket has a tear in the sleeve and he has no idea how it got there. I offered to put an applique over it  but he said that probably wouldn't work...it was in the wrong place.   It's about an inch long in two directions. I could always just ziq zag over it, cut up his jacket and add it to my stash, or find a way to fix it. Any ideas?

BJ, if you Google "how to repair torn leather jacket" you will get lots of suggestions.

Also, I have some Bonash bonding powder that I bought at a quilt show: http://bonashstore.com/
    Check out the videos!

And they have some stuff for leather repair! http://bonashstore.com/?product=viny...leather-repair

I've never tried the leather repair, but have used their bonding powder successfully several times.

Thanks Margo. I have some of that somewhere. I'll take a looksee. (I still think a golden eagle or dragon applique over the spot would be cool   )
