    free pdf converter - recommendations?

Hi all, I am in need of making up some pdf's to send to others, but don't currently have a converter, I tried googling for one, but there are so many out there I don't know which to choose! Does anyone have any recommendations (preferably free) for which ones they use?

    Cheers

Rosemary, my computer is a laptop (PC) that runs Windows 7. It came loaded with the Microsoft WORD program.
When I use MS Word, I just click on "Save As" and one of the options is to save it as a PDF, and all I have to do is click on that option.
Maybe you already have something on your computer that will work??

Hi Rosemary - I'm using an older Windows XP laptop. I looked around a while ago for a PDF converter and found FoxTab. It was free and it seems to work for me. I don't remember where I got it (it was a year ago or so), but I'm sure you could find it by doing a search. It's nice because you can use it from any application since it looks like a printer to the computer.

There could be something better out there since I stopped looking once I found something that worked.

I'm on xp too. I had a look at the options under the Save As section, but unfortunately it doesn't include a pdf format, but thanks for the reminder to look at what I do have anyway, Margo.

I'll go and have a look at Foxtab now, thanks for the suggestion Nancy.

        cheers friends.

Rosemary--Some computers allow you to convert files to pdf format, and even mail files in that format, from the "Print" window. Maybe???

following Margo's suggestion I had a furtle around in my save as section, and now I have just done the same for the print section, unfortunately my xp 2003 seems to be too old for such niceties.

              Thanks for the suggestion though.

                Thanks for this link.

I am all sorted now thanks, I found some helpful sheep over at http://en.pdf24.org/ where you have the option or downloading the programme, OR doing it online. I've opted for the latter version because my memory is running out of space due to large scan files of reels. The sooner I get them uploaded into the book, so I can banish the originals to my memory brick the better
