Did you know some cameras and smart phones will show your location as information imbedded in your photo? Kind of scary that the photo of your quilt (or your grandchild) could lead someone with bad intent right to where you live, isn't it?

I don't want to be an alarmist, but being informed can't hurt. If we could turn off this function............... I still haven't found out how to see if my own camera does this! :?: :?:

I've had a quick scan through the article and it looks like it's only photos taken with smartphones as these are the only ones that contain GPS chips. Still, it's worth being aware of if this is your camera of choice, thanks for posting. -
Looks like sometimes it's good to be a 'techno dinosaur'. My phone hasn't got a camera, so I have to use my standard little digital camera for pictures, and as a result no problems with this type of 'tracking'. It's rather sad that we have to be aware of these possibilities.
I think I better tell my son about it. He has a very up-to-date phone with camera and takes a lot of pictures of his very cute baby daughter.
