    Grand Finale

I've lent my copy to a friend, but NEED to know (LOL) what Bernina feet Ricky uses to do his fabulous binding with piping? Also what size of perle cotton - 3?

Sue, I just happened to be refreshing my memory about that this morning in preparation for putting the binding on GRAM SAYS!

He uses Bernina (7 groove) Pintucking Foot (#32) to make the piping, and the Edge Foot (#10) for stitching the piped edge to the front of the quilt. He uses size #3 pearl cotton embroidery thread for the cording.

His technique is really easy to do and makes a wonderful finished edge, completely by machine!

Thank you so much Margo. I'm looking at buying a Bernina and want to bargain with the vendor and hope she throws in a couple of extra feet.

Good for you!!! You might also want to ask about the #39 (1/4" patchwork) foot and #50 (walking foot). The machine probably comes with #20 (open toe applique) and #8 (darning-used for free-motion quilting), but if not you may want to think about them. Those are the four feet that I use more than any others. Good luck with your new machine!
