    EQ6 question

I am trying to design a baby quilt in EQ6 and my idea was to make it about 40 inches square and use one giant quilt block for the front. So I was able to use the block library and size the quilt to 40 inches (I did this a couple of weeks ago and forgot how). It looks like what I want in the layout, but I don't know how to have EQ6 recognize it so that it will print the cutting diagrams.

It seems like this is an issue any time I use the EQ6 libraries versus actually drawing a block myself, because it is only in the final quilt and not in separate blocks.

Does anyone have any idea what I am talking about, and better yet have a solution?

Ruth, when you want EQ6 to print cutting diagrams, you have to tell it what block you want printed. To do that, first be sure that you have selected the correct layer on the bottom left of the screen (you are probably working on layer one if it's a pieced block....even if it is only one big one!), then click on the select tool. It is the arrow tool at the top of the tool bar on the right side of the screen. Click on the SELECT tool, then click on the block that you want to print.
Then click File, Print, and Block. For more info, check your manual on page 268!
    Hope that helps!

Thanks, Virginia and Margo! I was able to get it to work. It seems that EQ6's several different parts all work separately. I'm sure if I knew it better, it would make sense. I had the block in the quilt layout but not the block layout.

Virginia, I originally planned this project for flannel using the Goose in the Pond block. But recently I learned that my niece (almost two, so this is more accurately a toddler quilt) likes Sesame Street characters and today at the Quilt Guild meeting they had Sesame Street flannel on the freebies table! There is an assortment of different prints of maybe 1/4 to 1/3 yard. I'd like to keep the pieces fairly big to show more of the characters together, so I'm now thinking about making another favorite block--Duck and Ducklings. I also found one called Dove in the Window...
