    MISSING PAGE!!!

Ok I am putting this under "A Funny Thing Happened." Although at the moment I do not find it comical at all. :x My Mom bought a quilt magazine and showed me a quilt that she thought my Aunt would like. Her birthday is at the end of August. It was a very simple pattern the blocks were about 8-9 inches. No problem .Wrong someone had ripped out a page or 2 and the instructions for another quilt were there with that quilt. I read that pattern several times before I cut it. It seemed to flow without a problem. Then when I cut out all the material I realized I had half of each quilt cut out :!: Has this ever happened to anyone. Then to make matters worse I was so angry last night I threw out the magazine. I probably would have grabbed it out of the livingroom garbage. BUT :!: Garbage day was today and my son actually did his chores. Go figure :!:  :x Thank goodness these blocks are cut reletively big. The smallest ones are 4 1/2 inches. I just can not believe I did this. I know once I get this quilt done I will laugh but right now NOT FUNNY :x Rachel

Rachel, I'm so sorry this happened to you. What magazine was it? Maybe someone here can help you. Marge

Rachel, is this an opportunity in disguise? This might just be your original (sort of) masterpiece in the works :!: I'm sorry. I was thinking along the lines of lemons into lemonaid. You probably don't want to hear cheery things at this point. Gloria

Thank you Gloria. I have been trying to think of the saying 'turning lemons into lemonaide' all morning. I hate it when I can't think of what I'm trying to think of, which seems to happen more and more.

I have a new attitude this morning. Yesterday I was angry because I spent quite a bit of money on the 2 yards of fabric that I cut up for that quilt. It is really beautiful fabric, Very celestial. So this morning I woke up took a look at my screw up. Took a look at the quilt that my Mother threw away the teal fabric. It is deffinately going to be an original :? But I think I can manage to do something that will make my son happy. It will be along the crazy line. By the way no I don't remember the name of the magazine I believe it was either the Quilter magazine or Love of Quilting. What I can't belive is my DH was so supportive of the whole thing. He just kept saying "hon it's only fabric, I'll buy you more" :!: Like I said they are cut in big blocks 8-9 inches so they are savable.

Sandy's remark a bout turning lemons into lemonade reminded me of our teenager's class motto:

When life hands you lemons, turn them into orange juice and leave them wondering how the heck you did that!

Using this accident to send this quilt into a new direction is turning lemons into orange juice! Enjoy the serendipity!

I have several magazines. I would be happy to scan the images and mail them to you if you know which magazine the quilt was in. Or did you already recreate your mystery quilt?

I haven't cut any more fabric but I did draw a design and I think it will work. Plus I am not very expeirinced at paper piecing. So I think I am going to try to do that with the yellow. You see the Fabric is very dark blue with like a milky way effect to it. I have this other planet like fabric that my mother and sister threw away the other half of the quilt to. I think if I add a mariner compass to the corners with a kind of mix of the other 2 I just might have a very cosmic quilt. What do you all think? This way I can get use of the fabrics that were gooffed up on one quilt. :?:  It is a thought. This way my youngest can finally get his quilt.
Oh and no you don't want anyone from my DH's family they are all abnormal and wacked in the head. He is the only one that has a heart or a soul for that matter. The rest are evil. With that I will say my Mother told me long ago if you can't say something nice about someone then say nothing at all. So that is all I can say. :?
