    How to get more quilting time

    A friend sent me this and many of you may have seen it but I have decided it will give me a lot more time for quilting if I do it. (I wonder if dh will notice ----LOL)

    HOW TO CLEAN YOUR HOUSE

    1. Open a new file on your computer.

    2. Name it "HOUSEWORK"

    3. Send it to the "Recycle Bin"

    4. Empty the Recycle Bin

    5. Your conputer will ask you "Are you sure you want to delete housework permanently?"

    6. Calmly answer "YES"and press mouse button firmly........

    7. Feel better? It works for me

    Ann in Olive Branch who will get to see the loot Dana (and maybe Cammille)brought home from Paducah

              Stay off the computer completely.....

              then chain yourself to the quilting chair...

              Unlock only to go to the bathroom..... unless you have inserted a foley catheter... that takes care of one of the trips...

              Send out for Chinese or pizza .... my husband says his eyes are permanently Oriental !!! NOw, He is also able to translate and speak Italian.

              Have multiple machines set up for different functions and different quilts. Move from one machine to the other. .. No time to breath..

              Sew through the night sleep at work?? Might not make the boss happy.

                    [size=150]On a more serious note.....

                    Keep yourself organized.

                    [size=150]

                    I am currently looking for my big box of thread collection because I CLEANED ( HAD THE HOUSE CLEANED) THE HOUSE AND MOVED IT FROM WHERE IT BELONGS AND LIVED FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS..... I CAN NOT REMEMBER WHERE IT WAS MOVED TO.

                    I keep all my current projects in plastic bins that fit under the bed. I can grab everything I need at one time for a sewing session... thread... material... Notions and equipment are kept in a rolling cart that comes out whenever I sew. I only have 6 of those bins so I only allow my self 6 on going project ( besided DJ quilt ... but that is another story. ) When I want to sew or go to a class.... I just grab the bin and run. It saved time being wasted looking for things. I basically keep things in their own place.

                    Once the quilt top is finished I then can start another project..... Or get out one that I had started before... and need to finish. I have been using this method for the past two years and am actually getting quilts and projects finished.

                      I have two mottos regarding having a "clean house"---

                      1 Dear Lord, Let my house be clean enough to be healthy and messy enough to be happy.

                      2. Hi Friend, If you came to see me, come in WELCOME!!!!
                      If you came to see the house/bus make an appointment.

                      And in my "big house" in the Rio Grande Valley I can pull a curtain to cover the mess. (and usually I don't bother, my friends know me and strangers don't count) And when Ricky dropped in with his Mama, I was just glad I had gotten dressed and wasn't still in my nightgown. (Since I will probably never have another celebrity there - I don't have to worry!!!!)

                      Ann who lives in semi organized disarray and loves it.

                        I have 2 rules to all who enter my home :
                        Feel free to visit just don't write your name in my dust.
                        If you've been here before you are now family help youself to the frig anything you want is yours
                        Friends are welcome anytime family; perferably by appointment. The most important reccomendation to all those near and far. Yes your kids are cute. Yes I do love children. However if you do not discipline what maybe cute at 2 and 3; May not be so cute at 12 and 13. Stop the behavior before it become annoying. (I hate it when people come over and let their kids go on a search destroy mission). So friend come visit anytime. Rachel

                            Ditto "I hate it when people come over and let their kids go on a search destroy mission". Thats aweful but very true! Some children don't know how to behave because thier not taught any better. Some have been taught/told to act up when they visit,and thats the Truth!

                              The older I get (60) the more relaxed I am about housework. Dust doesn't bother me much anymore, but the toilet HAS to be clean! :lol: I always tell my daughters that their REAL friends don't come over to see a spotless house.
