    altos quilter cut2

i was thinking about buying the quilter cut 2 i was wondering did it help and make things fasters :?:

I've had mine for over a year now and really like it. I don't think it make things faster, but it does make things more accurate. I suppose it depends on the kind of quilting you do. If you do patterns or blocks that require precision, it's important to cut very accurately, and this tool does help to do that.

It's also very good if you need to cut many of the same shapes. The tool allows you to set your measurements, and you are able to cut exactly the same thing each time.

On the down side, it's a little on the expensive side for a cutting tool. There is also a slight learning curve. You need to read and follow the directions carefully in order to get the best out of your investment. Guess there are no easy answers...

I have the Quilt Cut. It REALLY holds on to the fabric well. The mat comes off so you can replace it.

I like it but for some reason when we moved I packed it away. Seeing your post made me go dig it out and try to figure out why I stopped using it! The plastic thing is missing. I don't know where it is. LOL I have a dim memory of not liking that part and taking it off. I am left handed and can cut fabric left or right and I'm thinking maybe when using the Quilt Cut is isn't so easy to switch hands on a whim.

I'm cutting fabric for a quilt so am going to give the Quilt Cut another try.
Hope this helps and doesn't confuse you!

I have one. I don't use the cutting guide at all, I can't get accurate cuts, the long metal finger never goes in the same place exactly. I like it just for the cutting board, mat and fabric holder. Holding the fabric in place makes using a regular ruler effortless. But for the price, it's not that great a value.
