    On the go block organizer...

I have off and on been working on DJ quilt for several years.
I finally decided to take it back out and work on it. I counted my blocks and have 93 done. So close yet so far....LOL

I was looking for something to put my blocks in as I 'kit' them up to take along with me.
I could have done a plastic container....but decided to make my own carrier.

I had some pot holders which did not go with the colors in my kitchen. I had the small...quart size zip lock baggies and some felt.
I took one of the pot holders and attached the felt to one side (this can be used as a design board and hold the piece while working on them). I then attached six bags to the other pot holder with a straight stitch seam. Trimmed the bottom of the bags to the edge of the pot holder. I then took my first pot holder and attached it to the second to the sewn side of the bags.
It opens like a book. I put ribbon on the open side to tie the book shut.

The pot holders....are the about the size of a DJ...I can use the pot holder as needle storage.

It is compact and ready to go with the patterns and fabric...each pattern has a home.
I have my tools in a small plastic tote...now I can just slip it all in a small tote bag and am ready to go.

That is such a cute idea! I use the quart ziploc to carry a block that needs hand applique and have my tools in a snack sized ziploc.

      Your idea is much cuter!!
