    Alliance for American Quilts Auction!

Please, have a look at these gorgeous quilts, and then do a little bidding when the time comes. Especially look at No. 13. What a beautiful piece Mary Kay and Clayton made!!

The 2013 Gallery for the Quilt Alliance theme "Twenty" is up. Mine is #83. I see a beauty by Mary Kay Davis, too. Are there any other TQS members represented here? If so, please let us know.

Many quilters recorded their Artist's Statement and were allowed more words than seen below the quilt. That was fun!

Members can vote for their favorite, but so far I haven't seen a link to do so, as this gallery was just posted today.

I got to see Mary Kay's winner today in Herndon VA, it's beautiful!

          Repeat from a different thread:

I just spent the day at the Quilt Alliance conference where the theme of the day was the importance of documentation.
We watched as Luann Rubin recorded a QSOS interview with Jinny Beyer (it was filmed and may appear on the QA website in the future), heard a keynote address from Janneken Smucker (Graduate Curatorial Assistant for the International Quilt Study Center at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln), listened to a panel discussion (Curators Reveal How They Solve the Mysteries of Unlabeled Quilts and What They Wish Every Quilt Could Tell Them) and had great hands-on classes on label making, digital photography, self-publishing, and social media for quilters.

Then we got to see the Sacred Threads quilt show.

Now I"m going to look up Ann's quilt to see if I saw them. Seeing the winners in person was amazing. Someone else just told us she had an entry, but I can't remember her name...can see her face in my mind. Does anyone remember?

Hey Sue, If I am not mistaken, one of those beautiful top 20 quilts was yours. I posted the following on the Mug Rug thread the day they appeared in the Daily Blog. I think you were still traveling and might have missed it.

"Sue, Congratulations on being a Quilt Alliance contest winner. How great! Didn't at least one of that flock of 20 black birds fly off onto someone's Mug Rug. As I recall, there were "4 and 20 blackbirds baked in a (that) pie". If one of them happens to fly my way, you'll be the next to recieve a redition of my developing skills creating shore birds on a mug rug. Take your time on this. I have a few deadlines to meet before I can get to this one."

I was looking for that post to include the link here but couldn't find it. I'll look again and if I find it I will post again here. Great job on that quilt

I can't find the link to the Daily Blog where those 20 winners were posted. All that comes up for me are blogs dating back to 7/14 and the archive for July begins with 7/17. I think it was posted on 7/16 which is the day I posted the above message to Sue in the Mug Rug thread. It would be nice to have that link here so if anyone else can find it that would be great. Thanks.

This is not information I was referring too. There was a slide show in the Daily Blog in July of 2013 showing this year's 20 finalists. I think it was on July 16 but for some reason I cannot bring it up on my computer. Sue's "20 Blackbirds Baked in a Cherry Pie" was among them.

Lois, it posted on July 17. When I click on the Daily Blog, I have to scroll about a little over half way down. It has a bright picture of a quilt with balloons in it.
