Thanks, Clara! I was rather figuring that the end of August would be a likely date. Guess I'll have to find out how to get on their mailing list. But first, I'd better get stitching on those little quilts!

Thanks for sharing the link Clara! I signed up for updates. Working on a quilt that I hope to finish before the deadline, but in the meantime... I bought my first quilt Mod Spool  10828 - that's right, is one of yours Rita! Love what you did with one of "my" reels from the exchange. It's going to look grate in my sewing area  8)

Thanks for the update, Clara! My little quilts are all quilted and I just have to put on 4 more bindings and they'll be ready to register. That should be finished this weekend, so I should meet the deadline. And if I miss it, I just won't look for my quilts in Houston. They'll still do good!

Congratulations, Limbania, on your new quilt! It is lovely and what fun to have the quilt that Rita made from your block.

Yea! I finished my Tambani Alzheimer's quilts and got all of my quilts registered. Adding my previously finished quilts, that makes 10 quilts I'll be sending in as soon as I get the email responses. Here are my 6 new quilts:

I'll give you the particulars as soon as I get the quilt numbers.

Tambani (http://www.tambani.co.za) is a project where Vendi women create embroideries representing their folklore. The embroideries are beautiful, skillfully made and completely washable so can be used in any quilts. I think it's a great idea and I'm always looking for ways to use the embroideries. On several of the quilts, I combined these with fabrics batiked by people in Ghana through another fair trade initiative (http://anansevillage.com) where I also got the African beads used on one of the quilts. I also had some other African fabrics that I had picked up at different shows that I used, but since I found Ananse Village I will try to use more of their stuff.

So you bought them at shows or from the website?

Nancy, those are great! Great choices on the border fabrics too. They really bring out the personality in the embroideries. Clara

Nancy, you did such a wonderful job at combining beautiful fabrics together, especially the Tambani embroideries, to make GORGEOUS priority quilts! I love what you did here (actually, I like everything you create!).

I just registered seven more quilts with AAQI. They are #11632-11638. I will take pictures later today and hope to post them to Show and Tell tonight. They will go in the mail on Monday.

We are in Minneapolis, Minnesota for one more week and then we start back to our winter home in Texas. It takes us about a month to get there as we have a number of stops on the way. This is going to be a more stressful time for me as DH does the driving of the motorhome. He still is a good driver but I need to be more vigilant about the routes we take as he sometimes misses exits. It is getting harder for him to focus on more than one thing at a time so when there is traffic, he may miss the exit signs. And, as I may have said before, I am directionally challenged - have been all my life so this is definitely a stress point for me.

I have a few more ideas for Priority Quilts but probably will not get much sewing time until we get back to our home in Texas.

Hugs, Ann - the traveling quilter.
