Our tiny group of ex-pat (English speakers in Switzerland), beginner quilters were having problems with "stitching in the ditch" without wandering out of the ditch. Watching the needle seemed to be the problem. Doing some experiments, I tried using the Bernina feet, #5 (blind hemmer) & #10 (edge stitch). That piece of metal in the middle of the foot "rides" in the ditch and the eye seems to focus on that rather than the needle. The difference between the 2 feet is that #5 MUST only be used with the needle centered. #10 allows the needle to be moved to the left or right, if necessary.

Yes it does. I even went back and ripped out some previous work and redid the stitiching with much, much better results.
