    Alex Getting Kinky with Bob

I've been using the white, grey and black Master Piece for a while and the other day I loaded a few bobbins of the mid arm up with the black and what's left on the spool is all wavey! (I know I should be using the Bottom Line but...)

This is the spool. It's a 600 yd one. The white and grey didn't do this and I've now gone over to the 3000yd cops with them.

Has anyone else had this? Is it normal?

I wonder if humidity can cause this on certain threads. It has happened to me also so I will look forward to hearing from the thread pros on this one.

Don't know what caused it, but I'm sure they will replace it.

I've had that quite often with ALL threads. Am I weird that I didn't think it was a problem.

I most exclusively use MP now, so I'm sure it was with it.

I have actually seen this on a few spools of Superior thread. Doesn't seem to make any difference in its performance. Don't know why it happens, but would guess it has something to do with how it starts to be wound on the spool.

send the photo directly to Bob through either this site or the Superior site. They will replace the spool.

I have seen it; used it; and had no problems.

                Thanks for the reassurances guys.

If it's a common occurrence I wouldn't need it replaced. And if it doesn't cause problems like looping around the needle at the last moment, I'll carry on.

I've never seen that on a spool of thread before. I hope the thread guys are reading this post and tell us what's up with that thread!

Let us know how it stitches. I'm willing to bet it won't make any difference. It would be a pain to use for stitching on binding, though.

I had that happen on masterpiece also, was kind of freaked out when I saw it but as it didn't seem to affect my sewing I just ignored it.I did wonder if the thread was old? I bought it from the TQS Shoppe.

I'm beginning to wonder how often I even look at the thread on the spool.

I've seen it on MasterPiece and King Tut, it doesn't affect the thread and it's only as you get towards the end of the spool. It depends how much thread you use as to how often you'll see it  I'm assuming it's because the thread isn't wound as tightly when they start the wind. Maybe Bob could enlighten us on this?
