"I have been getting the occassional loops of top thread on top! so tightened up top tension!"

Tension can be a little on the mysterious side. I have to take my baby dog to the doctor now but when I get back I will make a short video on bobbin tension. If you are like me, visuals are worth more than 1000 words.

        Thanks JoJo
Will look forward to seeing that. However, I have done something (to quote Superman) I dont know what, but machine is sewing great! I use a multi thread stand attached to machine, when I ran out of thread, I took the thread out of the extra wire guide, generally used for bobbin winding and forgot to put it back when I had finished winding the bobbin. So the thread went straight from the cone, up through the guide and down into the machine! So dont know if it was the threading up, or new bobbin or combination of both! Could also be that machine realised that I might junk it if it kept on playing up.  Still, would like to know why it happened in the first place!

          I have Embird 2008, I have to download 2010. I also have Pfaff 4d,
I like using Embird, but I do not digitize. I really do not need to because of all the things that Embird does, either adding or taking away from the designs. 4D allows me more unusual fonts. 4D costs twice as much than Embird did.
My machine is the new Brother Quatro 6000d, I have been using Embird now for the last 6 or 7 years.
Your website is great, so is your tutorials, I love the little pea eaters. Deb

I have the Brother PE Design LITE which can add lettering and arrange images, not much customisation of digitized designs available, but it does what I need and it wasn't too expensive. I then use the Wilcom Truesizer free software to convert to the EXP format if I want to use the embroidery module for my Bernina 630 (which I borrow from a very good friend )), otherwise I use my Brother machine to do the embroidery.

Looks like just you and me Ali, the brits!!! lol. I have bernina version 5 Editor Plus, can do little amount of digitizing, but can change designs that are already done! I dont have time to do anything myself, and only have one machine capable of embroidery, so when that is going, have to wait before can do anything else.
