    Machine Quilting/applique

I can applique on my sewing machine - can I quilt my top with this, or it too thick?
    Thanks

Hi Sue, and welcome to the TQS Forum!

I'm not sure that I understand your question. Are you asking if the quilt top will be too thick to quilt on your machine? If that is a concern, just make a sample sandwich with a small applique and try it! If you have more questions, please post!

    Good luck!

I've quilted blankets on my domestic (heavy!) - the important thing to do is to make sure that you have lots of table space to support the quilt, in front, to the left and behind the machine. The machine needs to be set about the length of your forearms from the front edge of the table (this last bit I got from Phillipa Naylor).

If you go for Margo's excellent advice, do your sample about the size of a table mat. Finish it off and before you know it you have a great stack of table mats to use every day!

Jilly, I thought my little granddaughters should be introduced to TQS as young as possible, hence the latest profile picture.
