How to handle multiple seams when hand piecing -

Has anybody please got any tips for coping with multiple seams, such as the centre of a star? I find it very difficult to get the seams to match really well, despite trying to be really accurate. I am hand piecing - small klosjes (spool) blocks - so I have got 8 seams meeting where I join the blocks together!

Hope I can offer some help. When I hand piece, if any angles involved, I piece only the seam to the joining point, not to the end of the seam. Then I can press the seams and the little points as they fall. I mark my seam lines on the back side and line up my needle with thread through the seam intersecting points. I also do the same at the end of the seam line holding that point in place with a pin.
