I looked at this ripper recently and found the top has the texture of a fabric eraser so I tried my fabric eraser to pull the threads after ripping a seam, and the fabric eraser worked like a charm so now I have a second use for my fabric eraser with my Clover seam ripper. I'm confident a fabric eraser would work on paper piecing bits as well. I'll try it next time I do paper piecing. Of course, if I were in the market for a new seam ripper, I would consider this new gadget--convenient to have a two-for-one.

This is my most favorite seam ripper. I like the really sharp blade and the handle is comfortable to hold. http://www.clover-usa.com/product/0/...rWhite_Plastic

Yup, or a good kitchen knife to scrape old linoleum off an antique kitchen table....
Ended with a few cuts into the base, as well as a good and deep gash in my thumb, needed stitches and made use of my right hand (and I'm right handed), rather difficult for a very long time... The table renovation was also put on hold for over a year, when I got the proper tools, and finished it in a weekend... Some nerve endings in my thumb were also cut, and every so often when I hold something they become very active...
Have I learned? No. Will I ever learn? Probably not. But we won't say that out loud

Lotti, you're not alone! I snapped by Bernina ripper pushing it into the cap of my King Tut thread trying to pop it off... I also destroyed the ripper of my Alex Anderson tool because the inside of the cap was defective and the seam ripper snagged a hole when I was putting the cap back on. So I replaced them with the Clover seam ripper Margo just showed posted and so far so good... but I don't know for how long...

I must have at least 5 seams rippers, but for now I can only find one. Luckily it is my Havel. I really like it. I received one of the new ones at MQS, but have not seen it since. Now, I don't know if it is partying in the basement with the others, or if it liked Wichita so much it decided to live there. I am waiting for the sewing room fairies to come clean the room and discover where that party is so I can retrieve all my lost treasures.

Tools.........well the other week while cleaning my machine and rushing doing it the small paint brush I was using jumped backwards, all by itself of course, and the other end which is wooden has hit and broken the square light on the machine, the paint brush is terribly ops: ops: ops: by this and now resides all by itself in the back of the draw, and of course these days the lights are not just globes so I have to drive 1 1/2 hours to buy a new one AND have been told its best replaced by the machine technician. AND then my husband on hearing the commotion in my sewing room made the very helpful and soothing comment "what were you doing to break it, weren’t you been careful"    I said .........................
