I have made all these dresden plates but I just can not seem to get the center right. What am I doing or not doing? Is there a trick that I am missing or a step that I am skipping? The rest of them went together so well I should have known it was to good to be true. :lol: RachelHappy Quilting,

I was doing it peicing. Now should I do it before or after I sew down the plate? RachelComment

I pieced the blades of the Dresden Plate and turned under and appliqued the plate to the block fabric on the outer edge and then cut a circle and appliqued it to the center. You can then choose whether to cut away the block fabric behind the plate.Comment

Rachel, how about using a "yo-yo"? I have seen that technique used on a DP quilts.

I'll give it another shot. Maybe now that I stepped away from it for awhile I'll see it in a different light. If anyone has more advise keep it coming. I am open to more suggestions. RachelComment
