Machine Applique The Quilt Show 1401 with Janet Stone

    Show 1401 with Janet Stone
Janet is showing Ricky how to machine applique the letter f with double blanket stitch.
She keeps referring back to the "Magic Button" on the Bernina to prevent build up of
stitches on the corners. Ricky called the "Magic Button" "Pattern Begin".
I, now, have 3 different Berninas and I haven't a clue what button they are talking about.
    Can you please help me?
    Thanks so much.

Laynie, check your owner's manual. The icon has changed over the years. On my elderly 1230, it's a dashed semi-circle with an arrow at the top. On my 730 Artista, it's a right triangle with a hyphen at the top. Both owner's manuals call it Pattern Begin.

    It's a great function!

I checked my manual and now I can't wait to try it out.

I think Janet said here somewhere that she quilts on a Janome. I'm wondering if my Janome Horizon has a pattern begin button and can't find the answer in my manual. Does anybody know?

I didn't find it on the 7700. Actually, there is the lock stitch that will "end" the sequence and then lock. Some of the stitches have a lock stitch at the beginning - I asked my dealer if this could be removed by configuration, and it was not possible

Thanks Andrée. I'll stop looking. There were times I'd like to remove that lock stitch too.
