    Using texture magic on applique

Another question for the ice cream quilt, I want to use the texture magic for the cone but it would be appliqued onto the top, not pieced in. With the edges all wobbly and wavy, how am I going to get this sewn down??

I am using Texture magic on some flower centres and have found that if you use a a foundation like stable stuff to form your shape over and leave a large seam allowance to liberally glue under, it works. (Sorry about the lack of clarity, am suffering from cold/allergies and am very well medicated) :P

Look at what Patsy Thompson has done. daily-blog/103-good-advice/13790-texture-magic

You could problably adapt her instructions to stitch around the applique to stitching around the cone template before cutting out. Of course, you would have to draw stitching or cutting lines first. I would draw the cutting line and stitch just inside the cutting line. Then piece as normal.

You both make sense! I think I'll try it this weekend
